Not only during transformations. Mainly after using dragoon magic. Occasionally during reverse transformation but only during boss fights. I advise you to make quick saves as often as possible and in case of a glitch, start the battle from the beginning. Rewinding doesn't help if it freezes during transformation. Well, or go through bosses without magic at all, which can be difficult and promises a lot of grind.
