go to the black arms dealer, and buy all of the maps for 200 credits each. the maps will unlock a location for all the ambient freeplays for that specific area. clear the white dots, or enough to get the achievement to pop

Ambient freeplay is basically german sniper towers, propoganda speakers, stunt jumps,Armoured vehicles etc scattered all over the map over 1k i guess or there abouts that sean has to blow up. Very simple : RDX (remote c4 stuff) to them or dynamite etc and boom 1 down. Simple enough to be honest just time consuming. Tank seems the best bet or the AA gun for the ones in your area

You were correct the first time, fairgrounds are not in the countryside. They are in Paris area 3.

Most of the Fairgrounds targets are part of Centre, although a few are part of Paris Zone 3 (e.g. the scenic spot at the top of the ferris wheel).

I find it easier to destory everything in the blocks, has the maps are in grids just clear section by section in the area your working on (paris area 1 for example)easier to keep track of which you working on

Once the ach pops for one move to the next, i think il leave countryside till last has its the most spaced out and most targets

Even though you have debated about fairground, I can confirm that at least some of stuff in Fairground counts for countryside.

I haven't done any city areas yet, I had almost everything taken out from countryside (2 dots was left), took other one, still no achievement, fairground was close and decided clear it and bling. Got achievement. For 425 ambient challenge in the countryside.

Okay after thinking that I was missing a map I figured out the problem.

Was anybody else missing and collectibles in the Champagne -Andenne, Picarde, and Centre?

Don't give up!

Gare Saint Lazerre is part of Picarde so if your missing any in Picarde go to Gare Saint Lazerre and clean em up.

Gave De l'Est is part of Champagne - Andenne so if your missing any in Champagne - Andenne go to Gave De l'Est and clean em up.

Fairgrounds is part of Centre so if your missing any in Centre go to Fairgrounds and clean em up.

This isn't much of a solution I recommend following the guide above, but this is just to help people that were stuck like I was.

The area referred to as the Countryside is basically everywhere else once you take away Paris 1, 2, 3 Le Havre and Saarbrucken. There are slightly more than 425 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it does not pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Countryside, then see this map:

General Tips:

There are 1330+ ambient freeplay events spread across the whole game map. You will have to complete 99% of these to get all of the freeplay based trophies. Although this can seem pretty daunting, it is not as bad as it seems.

It will take roughly twice as long to get the freeplay trophies as it will to complete the story missions. You can either leave the bulk of them till after the story, or chip away at them in between missions. Here are a few tips that helped me get through them quickly:
- Do the main story first (the GOLD icons). Leave the grey ones till later, if you like
- Unlock all the weapons first. You will need a good selection to choose from.
- Unlock all the perks first. This makes it SO much easier and quicker. A must!
- Buy all the maps from the weapons dealers. Obvious really, you have to know where to look.
- Always carry a silenced weapon and a launcher: Viper and Panzershrek worked best for me.
- Make sure you have the Super RDX and Bridge Charges.
- Buy the Weapon Seller car upgrade, so you can restock on the move.
- Buy all the available upgrades: magazine size, damage, etc.
- Make sure you have the ability to lay explosives while disguised without suspicion.

Once you have all the above, you are ready to start. Set one of the racers as your getaway car. I choose the Aurora as I had the guns and boost if needed. Next fill up on ammo. You should try to keep yourself stocked up, particularly with RDX. Also, as said above, you should have a silenced weapon and launcher in your load out at all times. The Viper MG and Panzershrek easily make up the best combo, with the best magazine capacity, accuracy and damage stats.

From here there are two ways to proceed: either run around like a headless chicken blowing up everything you see, and being continuously hounded by rabid Nazis, or play it smart and do the most damage you can without detection. I strongly recommend the latter.

Whenever you can, get a disguise. Couple this with the ability to lay explosives while disguised without suspicion and you can do some serious damage very quickly. Since targets tend to occur in clusters, use this to your advantage. You should be able to rig everything to explode before being discovered. Then simply move away and detonate. If you have left the suspicion zone, shown by yellow circles on the map, you should be golden.

Whole bases can be wiped out in this way. Do remember that the RDX transmitter has a limited distance though. You may have to run around the base to set them all off.

Sometimes there will be no obvious target. This generally means you have a postcard, viewpoint or jump nearby. You should be able to figure out which it is easily enough. If you find that it is none of these, move away form the area and then return. Generals can sometimes disappear from view for some reason. He will reload when you re-enter the area.

Make use of the ! indicator under the map. For example: When killing Generals, attack from behind with a silenced weapon. If you are not seen while shooting and then holster the weapon straight away, you will get away without setting off an alarm. Even the general's two bodyguards will look straight at you without figuring it out.

Another use of the ! indicator is running while in disguise. If you can sprint while in uniform without raising an alarm, you can pretty much do anything without getting found out. This can come in handy when you do not feel like climbing up to a tower or propaganda speaker. If you can sprint without raising suspicion, feel free to use the Panzershrek to wipe out the target from street level. A great time saver.

Another great time saver are the AA gun positions, do not blow these up straight away. Take out the two guards, and enter the turret. More often than not, you will be able to take out 3 or 4 other targets with that gun. Afterwards, set a timed charge, and go and lose your wanted level.

You should try to be systematic. By sweeping across each area without leaving to many lone spots spread across the map, you can keep your distance covered to a minimum. Saves time and effort in the long run.

Lastly, use the secondary story missions as save points while working through the freeplay events. I was wary of trusting the autosave to remember that I had just spent the last three hours grinding through targets so I would finish each session with one of the GREY icon secondary missions. At the end of the mission, the game would do a proper autosave and ensure all progress was saved.

First off, buy the maps of freeplay events from any weapons dealer as soon as they become available. This will save a lot of time and prevent you from having to look for them. Secondly, understand that you don’t have to complete every single one on the map, though you will need to do the vast majority of them. So, if you can’t figure out how to climb to a certain scenic view, don’t sweat it.

Now, the freeplay events themselves are very quick and relatively easy (except for some of the scenic views). Here are some general tips when going for them:

  • Focus on one section of the map at a time. When you look at the map, zoom in and you’ll see thicker black lines that divide the city/countryside into smaller districts. This makes it far more digestible and will make it a lot more structured grinding rather than just running around haphazardly.
  • Don’t do them all at once. Do a mission or two, then clear out one or two sections/districts. Rinse, repeat. This will also help you earn contraband to buy more explosives/guns.
  • Try to be disguised as often as possible. This will help you get into restricted areas without the alarm going off.
  • Get the gold perks as soon as possible. They will allow you to do things like call a weapons dealer, plant explosives while disguised without raising suspicion, kill Nazis without being seen, and more.

Other than that, be prepared to grind. This is arguably what you’ll be doing the majority of the time you are playing this game. It’s not the worst grind ever, you can certainly get some enjoyment from causing chaos in various ways, but the sheer number that you have to do is rather excessive. Regardless, once you’ve nearly cleared the map of freeplay events, you will unlock all of these achievements.

These are the most tedious and longest achievements in the game, I spent about 15 hours on them, your task is to create sabotage, the seller who sells weapons has maps with the location of all sabotage places, as you progress through the game, maps will appear at seller, buy them and small, white diamonds will be displayed on your map; these are sabotage sites, they include killing generals, blowing up sniper towers, finding boxes of contraband, all of them are listed in the “Commando” achievement.
