How to unlock the Wrecking Crew achievement in The Saboteur - Definitive Guide

WHAT TO DO: You must complete almost all of the Freeplay event markers located in Paris Area 1. The ambient freeplay events are marked by white dots on your mini map if you buy the map from the arms dealer. 100% of the events are not required for the achievement; there will be 1 or 2 more in each area then are required, so if one is giving you trouble (most likely it requires climbing), there isn’t harm in skipping over it.

WHERE: Paris Area 1 is generally the Northern area of Paris. It is the first section you have access to when you start the game, before you can pass the checkpoints to get to other, southern, areas of Paris.

TIPS:
My loadout is usually the Viper SMG and Panzerchrek. The Viper is a great all around weapon that is silenced, so you can work without alerting the enemy if you are careful. The Panzerchrek can destroy just about any event marker with a direct hit and is very useful to take something out that is out of your range. (Thanks to Stokie Stallion for this idea.)

Save often and play on Easy difficulty. If you haven’t saved recently, and you die, choose the “Return to HQ “option to keep your progress. Any time I run out of Explosives or Panzerchrek ammo, I save and kill myself to reload and grab more equipment or use the getaway car with the arms dealer to reload. The difficulty does not affect this achievement, so it is easiest to get when you set the game to Casual.

Use the lights for climbing! Many of the big buildings that have a viewpoint at the top are very difficult to climb if you do not know what to look for. There will be an area with lights along the side that create a path to the top. Many of these areas are “Under Construction” and will have scaffolding, but some will just be a series of hand-holes to climb. The Lights will look like simple lanterns with a yellow glow coming from them.

Good luck, and stay patient!

Thank you for the light trick! Some places I had no idea how to climb up.

For City Freeplay targets the best combo to use is the

Panzerchrek it helps say if a building only has 1 target and its a tower, shoot it, dont waste time climbing. I mainly use it for propaganda speakers on walls

And the Viper SMG this is for when you attack small bases, take out guards plant RDX and click saves starting alot of alerts and frustration

Honestly when there is so many targets at 1st i use the collected Wulf tank to kill what i can and have some fun :D

Last bit of advice is use the grids on the map, say get all the targets in bercy before you move on it helps you see where you are and tbh it seems to go fast for me.

Are it the yellow/red alert signs telling the areas apart, or is are it the lines on the map. If the latter, which areas are exactly included?

your allowed to miss certain objects, i left around 3 or 4 in some areas, it mainly just means get most. if your struggling to find certain objects, leave it and come back, the only things you really need are postcards and you get them pretty easy. i completed this game 100% twice on 2 accounts.

Good luck.

I got the maps from the store. It tells you where everything is. It's not hard at all, it just takes a lot of time.

It's wierd, but yes the yellow marks means its a checkpoint you can pass, for instance Paris area 1 is the city limit has when you start the game beyond the checkpoints is area 2, and beyond the river is area 3.

The lines i work from are like a "village" montemart for example il get everything there then move to a neghhbouring area untill i reach the achievement then move to the next area

Its faster than you think when you grind it

sooner the better to be honest, i kinda left all mien till after the story or close to the end, so it was a huuuuge task, but start now it helps cause not only you get contraband but it helps freeing the city up a bit!

Three simple steps.
1) buy the maps from arms dealer (so you you have dots)
2) use Panzershrek (so you don't have to climb, you can take out a lot things from street level.)
3) grind it out

None of the Solutions contained this. You can leave 3 undone and it will pop. I skipped 3 scenic "pain in the butt"climbs.

Most hard climbs - look for scaffolding and lanterns/lights to guide.

I used the getaway car with shop keeper to restock.

Paris Area 1 is the North Eastern section of the city. There are slightly more than 333 ambient freeplay events available so if you are having trouble with one in particular, just leave it and move on. When the trophy pops, there will be a handful of events left over in the area. Be aware though that there can be a slight overlap in areas so don't panic if it doesn't pop when you think it should, just keep at it and the trophy will pop.

If you are not sure of the area referred to as Paris Area 1, then see this map:
