How to unlock the Kling of the Clink achievement in THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT - Definitive Guide

This is a Missable Achievement and can be obtained by a certain choice in the last Quest.

Thanks @D33AN for the Hint, still took a few playthrough of this Quest to figure it out.

Posted by Rizzo NP: This didn't unlock for me the first time. I rebooted my Xbox, played through the last bit again and it unlocked when the prison scene started.

Capture the Castle is not accurately capturing THE Castle wink. I personly played trough the Game (or any Game) and then check about Achievements that I can't figure out.

Clicking on a Solution and then cry about seeing Spoilers ... anyway changed it only for you.

I had to downvote you because of your poor choice of wording regarding the item you aren't supposed to acquire if you want for her to die. It isn't a Talisman but a ribbon which are two very different items. I was expecting a little girl actually dropping/giving you a talisman. So please correct your guide. Also it isn't "Poisson" but 'prison/jail' I assume that you get thrown in to..

So a Ribbon can be a Talisman? [A talisman is an object which is believed to contain certain magical or sacramental properties which would provide good luck for the possessor or possibly offer protection from evil or harm (Wikipedia)

I told you about "that should keep Evil from Syanna" - should be oblivious, since Syanna told you about this in the Conversion with the little girl. Also I asked about the Task Name since im not sure what exactly it wars.

Changed Talisman to Ribbon. But pls keep your downvote.

Strange, got thrown in jail and finished the main quest, still didn't get the chievo. It might be bugged. Also the task is, talk to the girl who sells flint. You can talk to her, just do not buy or win the ribbon from her.

Nothing about the achievement, just an opinion:

I'd say that both endings had their merits.. I definitely liked both, did this second. Both were fun, this achievement had a bit more life to it.

You're a lifesaver Rizzo NP! I suggest adding that you should manually save before jumping in the well. The achievement should pop when you've arrived in prison. If it doesn't it's glitched.

Still can’t get this to pop, I made the save just before the girl with ribbon and replayed it, yet it still won’t pop even after rebooting Xbox several times.

Downvoted primarily for OPs discourse in comments. Defensive much...

Anyway, there are three main endings, not two (though two of them lead to the other achievement) and several ways to get each. Also for what it's worth, you can still do the Unseen quest line and backout to the Syanna one before confronting
. In case it's important to allow that choice, I should note I followed both options before contacting via the Ravens :)

Please, if you can - change description in your guide to spoiler free - you should inform about spoilers in guide section (the same as you inform about Missable) and hide whole GUIDE in spoiler pragma, or change it in way not describing main plot events.

I didn't voted for this guide yet, although for spoilers in guide I feel that I should give you a negative. Event that I've stoped read at "Capture the Castle", it's alredy spoiled me part of main plot at the beginning of my playthrough. Thanks...

You get this achievement for allowing

After the "Capture the Castle" main quest, you start "The Night of Longfangs" quest. This quest has a choice in it. You can choose to find Syanna or you can choose to look for the Unseen Elder. In order to get this achievement you have to choose the former.

When searching for Syanna, you'll end up in the Fablesphere. The main quest within the Fablesphere ("Beyond Hill and Dale") has a number of parts to it that can be done in any order. One part in particular is to talk to the Flint Girl. This is the key task to avoid for getting this achievement. The Flint Girl has a ribbon which used to belong to Syanna. In order to get the achievement, you need to NOT get the ribbon. Simply don't even talk to her at all, or if you do, do not buy or try to win the ribbon.

Proceed with the rest of the quest (skipping the ribbon) and you'll leave the Fablesphere, set up a series of cut-scenes with minimal interaction, and at the end of that section, you'll find yourself
and the achievement will unlock.

While this is basically the end of the DLC, note that there is quite a bit of extended conversations and minor tasks to flesh out the full ending after the achievement unlocks.

Note that you cannot get this achievement and
The Witcher 3: Wild HuntLast Action HeroThe Last Action Hero achievement in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt worth 14 pointsBe decorated with the Order of Vitis Vinifera.

at the same time. If you want to get both with minimal replay, choose Syanna's path and make a manual save near the Flint Girl. Get or avoid the ribbon, finish the game, then reload and make the other choice with the ribbon and go from there.

*contains spoiler*

For this achievement you should not get the ribbon for Syanna. In the end she will die and your achievement will pop up when you defeated the final boss.

I hope this will be helpful. Comments and feedbacks are welcomed.

This is a MISSABLE TROPHY. So when you go to meet Damian at Caunt de la Croix's mill save your game. Or you can save the game in the quest "The Night of Long Fangs" when you get the choice to either save Syanna, or go find the Unseen Elder.

What you want to do is to choose the option to save Syanna. When you get to the land of fables you with have an option to speak to the little girl who sells flint. Don't do it. If you do and get the ribbon this will save Syanna when you confront Dettlaff.

Just get the three beans and plant them. Go up the stalk and kill the giant and then go and confront Dettlaff. Now that you don't have the ribbon he will kill Syanna. Then choose to let him go. You'll end up in prison and the Trophy will pop.

Story related but can be missed! Make sure to make a backup save at the main quest "The Night of Long Fangs".

During the quest of "The Night of Long Fangs" where you need to make a choice to either find the Unseen Elder or find where Syanna is being kept, make sure you pick to find Syanna. While completing the quest "Beyond Hill and Dale", don't speak to Little Flint Girl and do not obtain the ribbon. Once you have completely ignored the Little Flint Girl, complete the quest and finish the story.

This achievement, as well as "Last Action Hero," are both missable since they deal with obtaining the different endings of the expansion. Your choice for these diverging paths will begin during "The Night of Long Fangs" and carry on into the "Beyond Hill and Dale..." quest.

After slaying the Bruxa in "The Night of Long Fangs," you must choose the dialogue choice that reads: "Considering freeing Syanna. Let's talk to Damien." From then on, complete the quests's remaining objectives, making sure to read every single diary entry in the nanny's journal, and you will eventually trigger the "Beyond Hill and Dale..." quest.

Once in the "fairytale land" during this quest, defeat the Wicked Witch and move on to speak with Joss. After this, you will need to speak with various other fables in order to find three magic beans. Carry on with these objectives but do not speak to the Flint Girl! Make a manual save once the Flint Girl is the sole remaining objective.

To get "Kling of the Clink," complete the quest without speaking to the Little Flint Girl. This will eventually net the "bad" ending, and the aforementioned achievement. Reload your previous save file whenever you please to work towards the next ending.

To get "Last Action Hero," speak with the Flint Girl and obtain the Ribbon from her. This can be obtained by winning a match of Gwent or buying it for 500 coins. Now go on to complete the quest and you will in turn receive the "good" ending and this achievement.

NOTE: There is a second way to obtain the "Last Action Hero" achievement. This is done by choosing to visit the Unseen Elder in "The Night on Long Fangs" rather than choosing to help Syanna. It's an interesting narrative arc and it offers a slightly different ending, however following the method outlined in the guide above ensures you do not have to run a second playthrough for the "bad" ending.

You can miss the trophy! You can get Toussaint Hero or Toussaint Prisoner in one game. To get both, save before or during the quest "A Long Time Ago".

To get it, you must not take the ribbon from the girl in the “Once Upon a Time” quest to protect Syanna. In this case, Datloff kills her. Next, you will have a choice whether to release Detloff or kill him, and if you let him go, you will eventually be sent to prison and you will receive a trophy.

Video for clarity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhOVtoiuMpg

PS
I’m not exactly sure whether it’s necessary to let Dettloff go in order to get the achievement or if it’s enough just for him to kill Syanna.

Important! The trophy can also be missed in another way: if, during a vampire attack on the city, you choose not to free Syanna, but to go to the Hidden One, then the quest “A long time ago” will not be given and, according to the plot, Detlaf will have to be killed without the right to choose, for which we will receive a medal.

Dettloff can be safely released on all 4 sides. The main thing is NOT to buy/win a ribbon.

Let me clarify, this means the girl with matches from the additional part of the quest, called “Once Upon a Time.”

The trophy drops immediately after the hero is taken into custody; you do not need to complete the storyline to the end.

You can skip the achievement!

There is only one way to get to prison: during the quest "The Long Night" you go to look for Syanna in the palace, and in fairyland during the quest "A long time ago..." DO NOT take Syanna's ribbon from the Little Match Girl.
