How to unlock the Enlightened achievement in Thea 2: The Shattering - Definitive Guide

During the Main Quest, "Lightbringers", the alchemist will suggest that you seek the council of elders OR free a dwarf imprisoned by trolls. What you need to do for this is head to the Elves in the Ancient Forest. Ancient Forest is the light green area on the map. It is also the highest level other than the ocean, so go prepared.
Basically, when you get to the Elves, they will send you to speak to someone. During that conversation with that someone there is the option to align yourself with them. Take that path in conversation and they will send you to a cave.
Head to the cave. Go in and have fight that's not that difficult and that's it. Quest complete and the trophy will pop.
This solution came from my own experience initiated from a post I read at the Steam forum.
