How to unlock the Stay On Target achievement in theHunter: Call of the Wild - Definitive Guide

I'm pretty sure you can just find any track and press X on it 50 times and the achievement will pop. If someone could confirm this, that would be great. It randomly popped for me but I was mashing the X button on the same track about 45ish times. The achievement for finding 100 tracks works this way, that's why I brought this up.

I got this along with the one for harvesting a wounded animal. Find a roe deer or small game animal. Stalk it and when the opportunity presents itself aim for a non vital area of the animal (I shot in the upper back/hip region). The animal will run but will leave a trail of blood, droppings and tracks. Follow them from the spot where you shot the animal and follow the highlighted tracks, blood and scat until the achievement pops. If you spot the animal and don't have the achievement yet just scare it off and follow it again. This will likely work for finding 100 tracks but I haven't accomplished that achievement yet.

Shot a deer in the leg (very low bleed rate) tracked it until I found it dead, 15 tracks. I figured it’d be at least 50 by the way you described it.

I've found that shots to the neck (as long as they don't hit the spine) do very little damage. I'm new to the game and thought that throat shots would be vital shots, but I was wrong. Could be my aim though. I'm using the starting load out and going for deer. It seems that they leave a blood trail of a low bleed rate which you can follow, but it eventually stops leaving you only footprints and droppings. So you have to find the animal again and repeat the process.

By default, an animal's tracks will be highlighted on the ground. Interact with one of the tracks to begin tracking an animal. The animal's tracks that you are currently tracking will be highlighted in a different color. Keep following these tracks, interacting with each one, and you will eventually get this achievement.
