How to unlock the Homecoming King achievement in Thor: God of Thunder - Definitive Guide

This achievement is called 'Homecoming king'
=================================================

This is for killing the final boss, Mangog. He's a pain, so here's some tips.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the first part, just keep using Buzzsaw throws (LT + RT); which stuns him. Then move in to do a combo (I used the air combo - mjolnir spin ).
After recovering from being stunned, he can't be stunned for about 10 seconds or so again.
Just rinse and repeat, and you should reach the second stage on full or near full mana and health.

For the second stage; you need to reflect the fireballs he sends at you, in groups of volleys (of 5 I believe). I'd recommend only trying to reflect the first volley, and dodging the rest, as
-the frequency changes
- he also fires larger firballs after a little while
- any time I tried to reflect more, I took loads of damage
If you get past this; well done - it's the hardest bit.

For the third stage, follow the tips for the first stage, but try to use your odinforce (I used lightning storm) to build up the fury meter. Always activate the fury ability when full. Loki will appear and distract Mangog; attack him as he moves towards Loki, and grab his tail when he reaches him.

I used this tactic to defeat him on the hardest difficulty, so hopefully will be useful for your game too. If you're having extra difficulty, send me a message and I'll try clarify some parts.
Good luck!

While most of Blindhurdler's solution is good (especially using Buzzsaw throw), I think a few other points are important - especially for Valhalla difficulty.

1) I found that simply reflecting the fireballs on Valhalla difficulty did not work. Reflecting 5-6 fireballs was what seemed to trigger his ground attack, whereas just dodging them meant he would just fire them indefinitely (leading to my eventual death). For the fireballs, I would try to reflect the first volley, using a reflect, dash once, reflect pattern. If I missed the reflect on the first shot, I would dodge until the next volley and try again. Using this method, I was able to trigger his ground attack quickly.

2)Grapples - Using the power attack (Y button on Xbox) didn't seem overly helpful - it will take 3 grapples during the first two rounds regardless of power attacks, so I chose to use 3 X attacks for the extra health/odinforce.

3)Finally - during the 3d round with rage/Loki, there is an aim portion on Valhalla difficulty. You must hit Mangog in the HEAD or he will fry you with a fire blast.

Obtained after defeating the final boss, Mangog. This will pop during the cutscene after his defeat, but before the credits. Unmissable.
