How to unlock the Aces High achievement in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 - Definitive Guide

I tried St. Andrews #9 a million times without success before I decided to try something else. I found hole #4 at TPC Boston to be the better choice, as you can use a 3 iron instead, thereby increasing your accuracy.

With the Max Stats suit on, I had the flag at almost exactly 100% with my 3 iron, sunny weather, calm wind and medium pin difficulty (easy pin is way harder on this particular hole). Got it on the fifth try. The shot was at 100% with the wind blowing towards the hole at 1 mph.

To sum it up:
18 holes, TPC Boston #4 only
Sunny weather, calm wind, medium pin difficulty
Use the 3 iron and wear a Max Stats suit. I strongly recommend spending the MS Points to unlock this early on to avoid all the training sessions after each round.

Good luck :)

Thanks for suggesting the alternative. I also think it's easier on Boston #4. I've got the achievement using Tiger with Beginner difficulty.

Thanks for the solution. Got second round after about 25 rounds on St. Andrews #9. Way better solution.

Settings:
--Traditional Game Mode

--Select Custom Course (18 Holes)
--Select Hole 9 from St. Andrews for All 18 Holes
--Change Green Speed to Average
--Change Fairway Speed to Average
--I uploaded the Hole In One I made to Gamernet, so please feel free to download it to help aid you in getting the achievement.

Your solution is okay but I found the following settings much easier:

Weather: Sunny
Green Speed: Slow
Golfer: Luke Donald

In particular, when the wind was 1-3 mph towards you it made it a lot easier to keep the ball from rolling past or over the hole.

Also those GamerNet challenges for HIO on Andrews 9 get removed for some reason, and yours is certainly gone as well. I just posted one, but it will likely be gone soon.

Make a course using St. Andrews #9 and just wail away on it. It is a short, driveable par 4. I haven't sunk this yet, but I've been within 3 feet 10+ times and even hit the pin once. This is also a good way to accumulate eagles and birdies.

UPDATE: I finally got this one, using about 70% (estimate) backspin and clubs tuned for maximum roll distance (minimum loft). I kept bouncing past the hole; rolling it up to the hole is your best bet, as the green is super-flat and you don't need a lucky bounce.

I tried the harder pin placements but found the "easy" placement was the most reliable target. Also note that there is a slight ridge in the fairway just short of the green, so you'll want to adjust your aim ever-so-slightly to your right. (Assume approximately 1 mph crosswind to your right.)

WARNING: I have heard from multiple sources that mulligans invalidate this and most other achievements in TW10. I recommend making an 18-hole course of St. Andrews #9 and playing it through. This will also ensure that the course conditions stay mostly the same, though the wind will vary slightly from hole to hole.

I've heard that mulligans invalidate achievements. I'll update the solution to note this.

Using the same St Andrews course settings as in the other solutions.

Tune a driver to around 289 yards (this should give you massive sweet spot).

Set the green settings to Average and Medium to allow a bit of roll on the ball.

Now you should be able to hit at 100%, depending on the wind and consistantly finish close to the hole. Now you just need to allow for the wind!

There are two methods of actively trying to get this trophy:

1. Play 18 hole rounds on the Custom St Andrews Hole 9 course. Try and tweak the fairway speed, green speed and which tee-box you use to give you the correct / easily repeatable shot distance. You want to make it as easy as possible to repeat the shot time after time. Unfortunately, there will always be a slightly different wind to contend with. But you should be able to dial it in fairly close.

2. Go into the GamerNet menu and into ONE HOLE. You should try and find a Hole-in-One on a par 4. There are usually a few different ones available. The great thong about the GamerNet challenges are that they are EXACTLY the same every single time. This means you can really dial it in, predicting how the wind and ground will effect the ball. This added predictability makes this a much easier method than above.
