How to unlock the Ping Pitchman achievement in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters - Definitive Guide

All credit goes to Stewie Griffin2 and those who helped at xbox360achievements.org. I am simply relaying the list for TA users.

Sponsor objectives need to be unlocked during the career (Road to the Masters).

How to Unlock
Finish Top 10 in two PGA TOUR events

Level 1 Objectives
Finish any round of a PGA TOUR event with a score of -2 or better
Sink a shot with a PING iron
Play a bogey free round
Win a PGA TOUR event by 1 stroke or more

Level 2 Objectives
Play in any Major using a PING fairway wood
Win 5 sponsored events on the PGA TOUR*
Win a PGA tour event
Hit a Par 4 green in one stroke
Win a training event on the PGA TOUR

Level 3 Objectives
Win any Major using a PING putter
Hit a shot out of a bunker that lands within 2 feet of the hole
Earn 800 or more FedEx Cup Points in a season
Win 2 Major events*
Place Top 5 in 3 consecutive PGA TOUR events*

The asterisks (*) note that you need to have this sponsor equipped in order to maintain the consecutive count. If you switch over to another sponsor the number resets. This is mostly important for Level 2 when obtaining the 5 sponsor event wins as the events start becoming more scarce the further along in the seasons you are. Try to pick this up early during season two or three at the most.

When you reach Level 4, simply equip PING sponsor and play in a Major (The Masters, US Open, UK (British) Open, or (PGA) Tour Championship). When you finish the round(s) you'll be rewarded with the achievement.

The Globalizer : "FYI, if you reach Sponsorship level 4 during or at the end of a major tournament, the achievement will unlock. I got it when I won a major with a PING putter and didn't have to play another major."

FYI, if you reach Sponsorship level 4 during or at the end of a major tournament, the achievement will unlock. I got it when I won a major with a PING putter and didn't have to play another major.

@The Globalizer - Correct, done this a few times. I'll be sure to add it to the info.

As for the "Sink a shot with a PING iron"; I hit a hole-in-one with a PING iron and it did not count. (Was in Live Play, not Road to the Masters). I also shot a high iron (8 or 9) into the cup on a pre-tournament event (Training or Sponser Challenge, can't remember which) and that didn't count either. Any thoughts?

@steveRPGmr - You have to been playing a tournament on Road to the Masters, the sponsor challenges unfortunately do not count, the only thing that counts for those are course mastery I believe. So you'll have to be playing career mode in a tournament for it to unlock.

@steverRPGmr - Yeah that is true. The later objectives can be obtained early on, there is no confirmation for them at the time but they will carry on over when you level up.

@JPG30 - Sponsor objectives have to be done during the career "Road to the Masters". What I meant was, if you are playing a sponsor challenge or a match against another golfer (pre-tournament stuff) they also won't count - the course mastery stuff will go towards it however. An example is eagle every par 5 - if a sponsor challenge has you play on some par 5s and you eagle one or all of them, they count into the course mastery. Plus anything else you may do while playing on the course will add to it even though it is not the sponsors challenges aim, another example would be sink a 50 foot putt while trying to eagle par 5s.

But again, you need to be playing career in order for these sponsor objectives to unlock.

@JPG30 - Not sure, sorry I haven't played in awhile. Should be able to find someone while playing your career.

This is how I mostly played the game, just played career and tried not to worry about course mastery and objectives, it'll come with time, have fun!

@RaajTM - I came across an interesting situation with the "Sink a shot" objective. I finally -did- get it (in a Major, no less) on the Atlanta Athletic Club 6th hole. As I bypassed the Ping sponsorship to finish the others and then came back to it, I managed to complete some (many!) of the -later- objectives. The only one missing for the next level objectives was "Play in any Major using a PING fairway wood". As I had done a Midround Save while grinding to get the Sink a Shot, I immediately saved on getting it, went back to the main screen, was told I achieved Ping Level 2 and got the Fairway woods MIDROUND and was able to finish with 'em + get Level 3(!)
