How to unlock the Shark Attack! achievement in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters - Definitive Guide

To unlock a HAMMERhead Prototype Club you will have to unlock all other clubs of that type. For example, to get the prototype driver you must unlock all other drivers in the pro shop.

Most clubs are unlocked through gaining Sponsor Levels with the 6 main sponsors (EA Sports, Cleveland Golf, Taylormade, PING, Callaway, and Nike.) There are a few clubs, however, that are unlocked through the Sponsor Challenges that are made available before each tournament (Mizuno Wedges for example.)

In order to unlock ALL HAMMERhead Prototype Clubs You will have to reach Level 4 with all six of the main sponsors, as well as complete the few challenges which award clubs. To see which clubs you still need to unlock a certain prototype you can use the search option in the Pro Shop. Just set the filters up like this:

Category: Equipment
Subcategory: Drivers/Fairway Woods/Iron Sets/Wedge Sets/Putters (whatever you are focusing on unlocking)
Brand: All
Boost: All
Status: Locked
Level: All
Owned: All

When you select a club it will tell you how to unlock it, be it by Sponsor Levels or Sponsor Challenges.

You can also purchase level 4 of each sponsor by selecting them and pressing (LB) to open the store. To purchase all sponsors will cost you about $20 so I recommend playing though a bunch of seasons and unlocking as many as you can while working on other achievements and use this as a last resort.

*ATTN*=> Purchasing level 4 sponsorships prohibits unlocking the "Pin Collector" achievement, by preventing gaining the "Prototype" pin for legitimately unlocking the prototype clubs. Thanks BillJones0302 for the heads up.

If you have purchased Sponsor levels and it has prevented you from getting "Pin Collector" you can go to System Setings > Memory > Hard Drive > Games > Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12. Now delete any items named "Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12 Sponsors" from your hard drive. (You can redownload them again later if you wish.)

It is being rumored that purchasing level 4 sponsorships prohibits unlocking the "Pin Collector" achievement, by preventing gaining the "Prototype" pin for legitimately unlocking the prototype clubs. Can you confirm this?

I can't currently confirm this since I haven't unlocked them all, I did accidentally purchase one of then though so I'll find out in a few days when I'm done lol. Thanks for the heads up I'll note this in my solution.

I got both of the Hammerhead Achievements today. I purchased the Level 4 Ping and Taylormade Sponsor Levels and played the others and the "Prototype" Pin still unlocked for me.

These clubs should've come with a 100% sweetspot for all the work they take. Damn you
EA. Nice guide

One thing about the Sponsor Challenges; the game informs you that there are 99 challenges. You do not have to play all 99 and most people will -not- play all 99 because you will unlock ALL the Pro Shop items after appx. 55 or so. So where are the remaining challenges? They are tied to the DLC courses! So if you do not play the DLC courses you -cannot- unlock all 99!

I can confirm that buying level 4 prohibits the pin from unlocking. I just tested it and while all the clubs unlocked, the pin did not.

Thanks for the guide. I was scouring the internet looking for more info about unlocking Sponsor Challenges. I was concerned that if I skipped some it might affect my 100% completion of the game and lock me out of some achievements. I cannot fathom playing this game again, it's a real grinder. Someone should have definitely touched on this in the walkthrough. I held my breath as I was checking the "locked" clubs but was relieved to see that I only have clubs remaining that can be unlocked.
