This achievement popped for me in around 20 minutes-ish of walking in a circle after equipping the clogs :)
edit:
i’ve heard a couple people say you no longer need to equip the clogs for this, but i had them equipped when i unlocked this so if it doesn’t pop without the clogs, try again with them equipped
You can find the clogs in a gift box behind your nana’s house in Homelanda . If you can’t see it use
or 
to rotate the camera so you can see behind the house.

I had to still equip the clogs

I've been wearing the clogs for about an hour now, and nothing.
Ok, finally popped after I want to say an hour and 20 minutes of playtime. I'm not sure where the two guides I've read said 15-20 minutes got that from. I literally had them on since the start when I got them. It unlocked in Stanhamn, the third area.

As the description states, this achievement requires you to walk a thousand miles. Clogs NOT needed
I put the clogs on when I first got them, then immediately took them off and I got this achievement about the time I made it to Stanhamn, but I wandered back and forth a lot looking for things. I've seen others mention that it unlocked for them in Log City.
When this game originally launched on PC clogs were required, but that was patched out long before the game ever came to Xbox. You can check the patch notes on steam for yourself if you want. In PC Patch 1.08 they updated the game so that clogs were not required for this achievement.
TLDR: Play the game, have fun, don't torture yourself by wearing clogs.

With the Clogs equipped, you need to walk for roughly 15-20 minutes in them. If you want to work on this as you go, you can keep them equipped until the achievement unlocks (as you progress through the Quests and whatnot), but the shoes make you go the slowest by far. If you don't want to be slowed down by the wooden shoes, you can clean this up after you've completed the story.
