How to unlock the Slow and steady achievement in TOEM - Definitive Guide

In the second area of Oaklaville (one screen past the bus stop), you'll see a snail very slowly following a path toward a tiny flag. Once the snail reaches the flag, the achievement will pop.

If you're just waiting around, it will take several minutes for the snail to reach the flag, but there is a way to vastly speed things up:

This achievement is broken. There are no arrows and no flag. Just a snail that hides when you honk.

Rassilon, I think you may be in the same situation I found myself. I had unlocked the in-game achievement on my 1st playthrough, but it didn't unlock on Xbox. I finished all other achievements then started a new game, deleting the game progress. The snail didn't have a flag or arrow path. So, I started again, deleting the file and also resetting the in-game achievements. When I want back to the snail, the flag and arrow path were there. I watched the snail until it finished the race and my Xbox achievement unlocked. It takes 10minutes tops, if you know what you're doing, from resetting the save file until achievement pop.

Just to reiterate, it seems that you must reset the in-game achievements.

I can confirm that after deleting from everywhere and doing a second playthrough the achievement did finally pop. I will add that Xbox support was incredible in trying to resolve the issue while the people who created this didn't care.

That was odd. I was looking for the flag and it wasn't there. So I checked achievements and it unlocked at some point, I just didn't see it.

Thanks. Honking the horn took only a few seconds.

While in Oaklaville main area you will see a snail racing to a flag on the ground. Simply idle in this area for a few minutes and the snail will finish the race, netting you an achievement.

I just so happened to idle in this area while getting food and came back to an achievement popping. I had no idea why I got it til I checked the solution. Not that I'm complaining haha.

You'll get this in Oaklaville.

Just outside of the Hotel will be a snail on the right side (near the entrance to the bus stop). On the ground in front of it will be some arrows leading to a tiny flag.

You need to sit and wait for the snail to make its way to the flag where it'll "complete the race". This will take just about a full 5 minutes, so feel free to do something else while you wait. Don't leave the area or the snail will reset.
