How to unlock the Lightning Never Strikes Twice achievement in Tomb Raider: Anniversary - Definitive Guide

It is fundamental that you walk only where the floor is low. Avoid to high pieces in order to get hit

The Hephaestus room is located in the "St. Francis Folly" section of Greece. I would recommend saving your game when you get to the room. If you get hit by lightning, reload you save file and try again.

Alternatively, you can also keep getting hit by the lightning until you die. When the game reloads itself you will be just before the part of the floor that gets struck by lightning. Just make another attempt to avoid the lightning. Dying from the lightning does not have an effect on the achievement. Using this method I got the achievement after intentionally dying at least 3 times. This technique is helpful when using the "Replay Level" feature since during the replay you cannot create save files.

The achievement will pop once you exit the Hephaestus room back into the large main room. To be clear this means you have step on the switches to open the gate, get the key and then return back to the main room without getting struck.

For anyone having trouble with the room, here is a video walkthrough for it. This is not my video and all credit goes to TRATutorial.

This trophy can be obtained during the first level in Greece.

As you make your way through this level you will soon come to a very tall room with a structure in the middle of it. Scattered around this room are 4 doors, the Poseidon door, the Atlas door, the Damocles door & the Hephaestus door. Simply progress through this section pulling switches in the room to open up the various doors, obviously for this trophy you need to go through the Hephaestus door.

Once inside make your way over the locked door and into the room ahead, in here you will spot a ball of lightning near the ceiling and an open floor area in which you have to make your way across. As this trophy states you need to complete this section without getting hit by lightning, the secret is all in the floor panels.

If you look closely you will see them rise and fall, the tiles that rise and fall will constantly change. You want to aim for the tiles that DON'T rise, if you stay on these then you are safe from the lightning. You won't get the trophy until you complete this whole room by grabbing the Hephaestus key and leaving back to the area where you first arrived.

TIPS: If you get in a tight spot whilst on the floor tiles then try pressing to roll onto a safe tile. If you do get hit then you should be able to load your last save, you should end up back at the entrance of the Hephaestus door.
