First, make sure you save your game right after the fight starts, if you do happen to die, just reload your savegame and the achievement will still unlock.
Like most bosses in this game, the trick to defeating the Torso Boss is to fill his rage bar. He will do a variation of 2 attacks. He will either summersault at you, trying to squash you with his body, or try and hit you with his massive hands.
The area where you will fight this boss will be closed off by walls, except for 1 side, where there will be a lava pit beneath you. The first time you fill up the boss' rage meter, make sure you stand in front of the pit. He will summersault right into it, but will manage to hang on to the edge with his left hand. Shooting his hand at this moment will help, but you will not be able to shoot him down before he manages to pull himself up.
Filling up his rage meter again, the boss will try the handsmash, after the adrenaline attack his hand will get stuck in the floor, at which time you can target his left hand. To do this you have to lead the creature off the edge of the platform you are fighting on. Doing this is simple, just stand with your back to the edge of the pit & get the creature enraged by shooting at it. Once it is enraged it will attack you, just perform the adrenaline dodge to move out of the way which should make it fall over the edge.
It will cling onto the ledge with its right hand and try to pull itself back up using its left hand. At this point an orange circle will show over the creature’s left hand, just target this area and constantly shoot at it. Depending on the effectiveness of the weapon you're using you may have to complete the above method another time. Carry on until its left hand is destroyed.
Once again go through the same method and make it hang off the edge. This time it only has one hand clinging onto the edge, therefore target this hand to shoot at the fingers and make it lose its grip. When all the fingers have been shot away from the edge the creature will fall into the pit and the trophy will pop.
