How to unlock the Flying Solo achievement in Trine 2 - Definitive Guide
Added Info:Ok I done this three times and no achievement so I quit to dashboard n redone it and it popped, I think if you previously complete the levels with other characters for other achievements then try this it doesn't register, make sure when you load up the game its the first thing you do. - Lil Miss Cherry
If anyone should wonder, this does not work playing with more then one gamer even though you follow the rules. =3 - WhistIing Wolf
I went to multiplayer and started a private match on level 3. I selected the wizard and then restarted the level so you start with the wizard. Then, while your playing the level, f you die, just pause and restart checkpoint. I died several times b/c its hard to kill the enemies while playing as just the wizard.
As for the level, I can't really give any tips b/c I just built a box and managed to make it through the level.
I actually found it easier on this level. I'm quite surprised that most other guides ignore level 3 in favour of level 2. I didn't die once.
Thumbs up from me!
Play through the whole level as the wizard, use monster levitation (and boxes) to get rid of the goblins, and be sure not to switch to other characters. When you die (if you die at all), just enter the menu and restart the last checkpoint. The trophy will pop shortly after you defeat the boss and trigger the cutscene.
As the trophy name suggests, this cannot be earned in a co-op game. For this trophy choose Chapter 2, and use the Wizard. By default, the game starts a level with the character you played as last. So if it starts the chapter as the Knight or Thief, simply switch to the Wizard and restart the level. Your objective is to get from start to finish without switching characters.
This is easiest if you have a fully upgraded Wizard. If you need to, reset your skills on the skill screen by pressing and then allocate all of your skill points to the Wizard. You will absolutely need monster levitation. Additional boxes and planks are not necessary, but really help.
The only tricky part of this level is the giant snake boss. To beat him, immediately conjure a box on the ground as you enter his lair. Jump up to the topmost ledge and wait for a second. The snake will snap at you. You will need to jump out of the way, otherwise you are eaten. If you successfully get out of the way, the snake will destroy the top support. From here, use your box to break the other two supports and the snake will be crushed. There is a single infinite-spawning goblin in this area too. He can be a bit annoying. You can levitate him in front of the snake's fire blasts to kill him, or drop a box on him.
Note that if you die, you can immediately pause and hit "restart checkpoint" and you WILL still get the trophy.

There are just two nuances here, the first is when the game loads and you see the inscription press the start button, immediately switch to the Mage using the buttons or , then in the level selection menu, launch the second stage, you will start with exactly the character you chose in the main menu, then go through it completely as a Mage and receive this trophy.
The second caveat is that if you die while passing the level, do not press the buttons or in order to be at the last checkpoint (with this action you also switch characters), just press the Start button and select the menu item to start the game from the last checkpoint, at which you will again appear as a Mage and can calmly progress through the level further, you can repeat as many times as you like, I was given the trophy the first time, despite the large number of deaths per level.
It should also be noted that the more pumped up your magician is, the easier it will be to complete the level.
