How to unlock the It's A Trap! achievement in Two Worlds II - Definitive Guide
Once you have read the book, you can set traps in sneaking mode (press LT while no weapon is equiped) and pushing either X, Y or B. You'll set a different trap depending on the button you push. The one automatically attributed to Y is a default trap that stops an enemy walking on it for a few seconds. If you wait until the trap releases the enemy, you can take it back and repeat the process.
Any trap works for that achievement and by the moment you find the skill book, you should have quite plenty to dispose of. If you're in a hurry, you can get the achievement by repeating that process 40 times on the next enemy you find.
The achievement counts how many enemies were hit by a trap, not how many traps you set. As usual, make sure you save before reaching 40 traps. You can keep track of your stats by pressing B while no weapon is equiped.
Theoretically it would be possible to earn the achievement before you get the trapper skill if you had enough oculus (ocului?).
In my opinion, the best trap to use is the Spike Trap and the best enemy to use it on is a Mummy due to how clumsy and inaccurate they are. There are tons of Mummies in the area, just find a single mummy and repeatedly drop the Spike Trap while kiting him through a hallway.
I find the Spike Trap the best because it is able to be picked back up within about a second of snaring the monster, therefore making it very easy to get 40 snares in a short amount of time. Also, you can use the Spike Trap without having to spend any points in the Trapper talent: you can use it at level 1. If you don't have one of these on hand however, you'll have to settle with a slower one.
Using my method I was able to get this achievement in under 5 minutes and I wasn't even hit. Very simple if you wanna hurry up and get this achievement finished. Even if you have to use slower traps, it will only take you a few extra minutes.
To be able to set Traps and Bombs, you must first acquire the skill by either buying the skillbook from a shop, by finding it in a chest, or by receiving it as a reward for a quest. Once you unlock the skill, distribute some skill points to improve it, allowing you to set a higher number of traps and bombs.
The easiest way to get this trophy is to upgrade your Trapper skill to it's maximum, and then purchasing an Advanced Holding Trap. Set the trap as a Hot-Key from your inventory. Now while in game, hold down to sneak, and then press the button related to the hot-keyed trap to set it. An enemy MUST step in your trap for it to register towards this trophy.
Walk around Varn camps and areas of wildlife, get their attention, and then set your trap. Once an enemy has walked into it (it will die if you're using an advanced trap) pick up the trap and repeat the process 39 times. Use traps rather than bombs, because traps can be used an infinite amount, while bombs only last for one use.
I recommend doing this when your a high level so you don't take a lot of damage from enemies. Follow the above process and you should get the trophy with little trouble.
This stat can be followed by visiting your Reputation Book in your inventory.
