After exhausting all the various methods people have posted, this achievement still would never unlock as I wouldn't enter "Ranking Mode."

Step 1: Choose Arcade mode and the various settings you want.
Step 2: While holding X, Press A and after a few seconds the demo video, with credits, will begin.
Step 3: While holding LT, Press START to move to the Character Select screen.
Step 4: Release LT and Press START to begin the match.
Step 5: Either lose by K.O. or Ring Out to end the match. After the match is over, let the 10 second timer run out and a new screen will appear. This screen has a scorecard and will pop the Achievement.

Went several matches without getting this, thinking "either lose by K.O. or Ring Out to end the match" was your way of saying "just end the match quickly / without effort", so I kept winning the fights. Didn't realise until round 4 that I should have followed your instructions more closely.

I almost made the same mistake as Merzerus and won the first match I then actually finished reading your guide and lost the match and popped the achievement nice guide thank you.

Firstly follow the instructions to enter attract mode in this achievement...

The Class of '94 achievement in Virtua Fighter 2 worth 22 pointsSelect game settings in Arcade Mode while holding the X button to enter Attract Mode

Then hold X+Y+B and press start. After selecting your character it will say 'Now ranking mode' above your health bar. You can then proceed to get two ring outs to lose the match and the achievement will unlock on the grading screen.

How'd you enter Attract Mode?? I have tried holding X on various options in Arcade Mode, but nothing :(

After you select arcade mode you'll come to the screen where you set the number of rounds, the time, etc. On this screen hold X and press A. The intro movie will then have credits where there weren't credits before.

This and the other solution are not clear. After you enter attract mode and it says "Push Start Button" (which is BEFORE the character select screen), this is where you press X+Y+B and press Start at the same time. In fact, when you select your actual character you can just press A like normal and it will still display "Now ranking mode !!" above the health bar.

I got it after I lost and got the stat page not before. If you win you just go to the next round and it doesn't pop.

You need to be in Attract mode before you can get this trophy. To enter Attract Mode select Arcade Mode from the Main Menu. Hold the Square button and when your done making your selections press the X button (while still holding the Square button!) until the demo starts (it will take a few seconds).
Then after that is done, hold Square + Triangle + Circle and press Start. After selecting your character it will say 'Ranking Mode' above your health bar. After winning or losing the match, the trophy will unlock on the grade screen. You can lose and get 2 quick Ring Outs and trophy will still unlock.
Trophy Unlocked.

Firstly, before Arcade Mode, in the settings beforehand, press and hold the button and confirm. Instead of going to character select, it'll play the embu of the game again. During this, hold , and , then finally, press . Now you will enter Ranking Mode. Feel free to continue playing this mode if you wish, however to quickly earn the trophy go ahead and lose the first match.
