This is also known as the Konami Code. It used to be in a lot of older games. It would usually unlock "god mode" or something similar.

The achievement description itself is basically a guide.
Input down, down, up, up, left, left, right, right at the character selection screen on Arcade mode to unlock.

Super easy. At the character select screen simply hit down, down, up, up, left, left, right, right. If done right you should hear a female giggle. Then pick a character and the trophy will pop at the start of the match.

The trophy description explains it all, to enter Expert Mode (simply the same game but on a harder difficulty) press the following buttons in quick succession in the character select screen:

If pressed correctly a strange sort of feminine giggle will sound, confirming you’ve initiated Expert Mode, finally pick a character and the trophy will unlock in the first round.
