As of Sept 2014, there were still matches online, so try to go at this au natural before trying to boost this. You can't invite players, so if there are people still playing online, it won't be easy to pair up with your boosting partner.

Go to Online Battle and select Ranked Match. If you are finding it difficult to locate players, changing your matching range to Worldwide will help. These games are random, thus cannot be boosted. This isn't a worry though, as you only need to play 10 ranked matches, not win them.
