To break the opponents weapon attacking it while they are blocking will reduce the weapons durability do this till it breaks. This will usually happen at random but if you can't seem to do this the fabled merchant usualy has very undurable swords after going through any 3 story/ink blots on the map you can find him on a boat in the forest (left of Amana Castle on the map) Note its a good idea to pick up his broken sword once killed to use for the "Zero" kill achievements
Grummy
Wait to do this until later in the game when you have started to earn all the skills with different weapons. Find a weapon with high attack and look through its skills to see its weapon breaking skill. Take this weapon and get it fully upgraded and appraised, then set out to specifically do this achievement. A good time to do this once you are prepared is when doing jobs for Oryo in Omiki. She will give you a job to break the weapon of a 'Big Mouth' in Amana. He blocks a LOT when you start swinging your weapon breaker, so just use him and you'll destroy his weapon soon enough.
