How to unlock the Commodore achievement in Where the Wild Things Are - Definitive Guide
If you do not make it, restart the level from the main menu, using "Replay Chapter", or visit it again later.
Note: There are 9 total stars to collect in this boat section.
You have to navigate through the level without actually sinking (Hitting the sides is okay as long as you do not go under)
In Level 9 you get 2 chances as it will have a quick cutscene and then you will be on a new river so if you crashed on the first half you can still get the achievement and the second half is much more straight forward as it is wider and less obstacles.
My best tip for each level is avoid the stars, just get to the end but on the other side on the second half of level 9 aim for the stars, these actually cut a clear path from debris.
If you see no way of avoiding an obstacle hit pause and Restart the level (This will only take you to the last load screen, not the actual start of the level), in this sense if you didn't get this on the 1st playthrough level 4 might be a better shot as you do not have to go through any running around to get to it.
Same as the last one, only this time you're on a boat going down the river. The river has rocks, ledges, whirlpools & black goo that can crash you. You can escape from both whirlpools & black goo by moving the right analog stick back and forth when you get caught, but be careful because alot of them are near rocks and ledges and when you break free from them, you don't always have alot of time to adjust course to steer clear of those. There are also stars to collect during them. I would suggest doing 2 runs for these, with one being to collect all the stars and one to focus on not crashing. You can do them all in one run, but it makes it more challenging as the stars are close to rocks/walls/whirlpools/etc most of the time. Also make sure you watch ledges with your mast, one at the very end got my mast and crashed me and I didn't know it could so keep an eye out for those as well.
