How to unlock the Demon Defeater achievement in Wild Arms 3 - Definitive Guide

This is a story-related trophy and cannot be missed.

Nega Filgaia is the final boss of Wild ARMs 3. After defeating Beatrice in the Nightmare Castle, use the Exodus Orb to escape. After the scene, you will be control of your party once again. Head to the Ark of Destiny to trigger some scenes, and Beatrice will attack you once more.

For maximum protection in these final battles of the game, make sure your whole party has every elemental ward personal skill, as well as the sleep, confusion, sleep, paralysis and fallen ward personal skills. With these personal skills equipped, your party will be near-invincible. Further, Finest Arts will make quick work of every form the final boss has.

This battle against Beatrice is exactly the same as the one at the end of the Nightmare Castle. She has 18,000 HP and uses dark elemental attacks and sleep-inducing attacks. One quick Finest Arts will defeat her quickly.

After defeating Beatrice for the second time, you will need to defeat all ten forms of the final boss, with no rest between forms.

The first form has 8,000 HP and is able to reflect any attack, physical or magical, used against it on your party. Its HP is low, and is not a big threat. Using Finest Arts will defeat it quickly and prevent it from reflecting any attack you use on it at you.

The second form has 18,000 HP. It has a paralyzing attack, and on the sixth turn it casts Reset, resetting the battle back to the start. It is not dangerous, especially with every character equipped with the Paralysis Ward personal skill. Make sure to kill it before its sixth turn.

The third form has 5,800 HP, and seems invulnerable to physical and magical attacks. It only becomes vulnerable at the end of the turn. Have your most powerful character physically attack it or cast Arcana, and have another character cast Replay on them, allowing them to attack Nega Filgaia again once it becomes vulnerable. If you have Full Carrots to spare, set the turn order to Virginia, Jet, Clive and Gallows. Have Virginia use a Full Carrot on Clive, Jet casts Replay on Clive, Clive uses Finest Arts, and Gallows uses another Full Carrot on Clive. Nega Filgaia’s third form will go down easily.

In its fourth form, Nega Filgaia splits into four. Each different form has 5,800 HP and begins with an elemental weakness that changes when attacked with Arcana, and they heal when attacked physically. Nega Filgaia A begins with a fire weakness, Nega Filgaia begins with a water weakness, Nega Filgaia C begins with an earth weakness and Nega Filgaia D begins with a light weakness. The only way to find out their new weakness when it changes is based on what new Arcana they use against you. You can waste time trying to find out their new weakness every time you use Arcana against them, or just brute force it by using Finest Arts against all four of them one at a time.

In its fifth form, Nega Filgaia splits into two. Each form has 8,000 HP. One form will cast Hyper on itself and physically attack you, and the other will cast Fragile on your party. Defeat the one that casts Fragile first, as it is capable of healing, and then deal with the other one next.

The sixth form has 24,000 HP and uses elemental magic against your party. If you have every elemental ward equipped on your party, there is nothing to fear. You can brute force this form with Finest Arts if you want it to go by quickly.

The seventh form has 28,000 HP and casts Reset on its seventh turn. It is weak to every element once, and then gains a resistance to it when hit. You can pound it with Arcana and physical attacks, or take it down with a Finest Arts.

The eighth form has 12,000 HP and two Spirit Servants with 2,000 HP each. This form is trickier than the previous ones. The Spirit Servants will absorb any damage against Nega Filgaia, so they must be defeated first. The one to Nega Filgaia’s left is immune to physical attacks, and the one to Nega Filgaia’s right is immune to Arcana. When they are both defeated, Nega Filgaia will revive them on its next turn. Begin by defeating the Spirit Servant on the right with Arcana, and make sure Clive’s FP is at 100. On the next turn, use your characters’ physical attacks to take down the other Spirit Servant, and have Clive, acting last, use Finest Arts on Nega Filgaia, as it will be vulnerable until its next turn. This will defeat this form.

The ninth form has 13,000 HP and two Messengers with 2,000 HP each. This form is very similar to the previous one, with the Messengers taking the role of the Spirit Servants. One big difference is that the Messengers aren’t immune to physical or magical attacks, but their defense is high, so Arcana works the best. On the first turn, use your most powerful Arcana to take down the first Messenger. On the second turn, use Arcana to once again take down the second Messenger, and then have Clive use Finest Arts on Nega Filgaia when both Messengers are defeated and it is open to attack.

The tenth and final form has 30,000 HP. For every turn that passes in this battle, Nega Filgaia will summon a tentacle that uses elemental magic on your party. With your elemental wards, there should be nothing to worry about, but don’t let this battle drag on. Don’t waste any time, use Finest Arts on it to defeat it once and for all.

With Nega Filgaia defeated, you will have completed the game and you will obtain this trophy.
