How to unlock the High Jump achievement in World Snooker Championship Real 2011 - Definitive Guide

You should play through the season mode until you have built up your jump skill. Mine was about 60 - 70 when I did this.

It's a bit trial and error but this will only count if you get the cue ball to jump over a ball and pot a different ball to the one you jumped over. Also you have to pot one of your own balls (if you stripes, pot a stripe) and the cue ball has to not bounce off table. (You may get the cue ball bounce of the table if you try to jump shot too near the cushions)

Now if you have built up your jump skill, turn on the aiming aid and the positional aid. Go into 8 ball season mode and max out the amount of frames in the matches to 100% as this will give you more opportunity to do this.

If you find the cue ball behind an opponents ball with one of your balls near a pocket. aim for your ball and raise the butt of the cue and adjust the power/spin until the aiming aid hits your ball. The aiming aid will work even though you are jumping over another ball.

Took me a while to get this but if I had built up my jump skill and had known the aiming aid works once you have managed to jump over the obstructive ball it wouldn't have taken nearly as long..

This is quite simple really ,

Main point to this , is that you dont need another ball blocking your shot -

set up the game in 8 ball season mode and just pot 3 balls of your spot/stripe set by using the jump shot function.

RB + Right stick to alter the cue height, just make sure you see the aim line raise , cue power may be required depending on the shot .
Use the right trigger to check the aim line "jumps"

** extra tip for the curve shot chevvy **
Add some LB+ right stick to the cueball making the aim line curve to cause the cueball to curve - again you dont need a ball in the way for the chevvy to pop.

So basically you can get both Chevvies at once - i did ;)

Either i've done something terribly wrong, or you must have to jump balls for this to count. I must have done 15+ in a row, making every shot I took a jump shot (where possible) and no achievement.

For this to register, you have to be playing 8-ball pool. Attempting this trophy in snooker or 9-ball pool will not work, so ensure that you are playing the correct game mode. To perform a jump shot (i.e. the Cueball travels in the air after making contact with the object ball), there are two different button combinations to muster up. First, you must raise the end (or butt) of the cue so you are in a position whereby the cue is no longer straight, but the tip is aiming downwards on the Cueball. To raise the bottom of the cue towards the sky, simply press followed by . Please note that if you raise the butt too high, the Cueball image at the top of the screen will have a noticeable red cross over it. This simply means that you have raised it too high and must lower it slightly. The second button combination that you must add to the already raised end of the cue is screw. To perform this, hold and push . Also note that if you apply too much screw, both the positional aid and the aiming aid will deplete to the potential point where both disappear completely. Make sure that you avoid this, it means that the Cueball will be too slow and will not make contact with the object ball, causing a foul shot. Another consideration is the power. You have to make sure there is enough power to cause the Cueball to have the “jump” effect but too much will cause it to jump off the table. The positional aid will help here as it gives you an indication of where the Cueball is going to land, if it is long and high the chances are it’ll end up off the table. These 3 shots have to be potted to work, so don’t get worried if you’ve played 3 jump shots, only potting 2 for example, and the trophy doesn’t unlock.
