To beat somebody that has a higher rank, or rather, a higher position in the leaderboard (when in the online list of options, the leaderboard is at the very bottom. You want to follow “Ranked“ once you get in), it has to be in a ranked match. If you are boosting, simply allow your partner to win a few frames first using the method provided in “Veteran” so that they are a higher rank than you, and then reverse the order and win yourself.
