How to unlock the Beat the Host Nation achievement in 2006 FIFA World Cup - Definitive Guide

I discovered this by accident not trying to get this achievement, but you can also get it by winning a practice shootout against Germany. I suck at this game, but was still easily able to beat the shootout with no problem. I used used England when I did it (just so I could practice for the global challenge between them, which isn't supposed to be one of the 'hard ones' but I disagree... and digress). Good luck!

Excellent! I borrowed this game from a friend, just to try to get some axhievements, but Im not good at soccer games. Im sure your idea will save me a bunch of time. Thank you!

I got the “Complete A Scenaro” achievement first, then the others soon followed.

[My first solution]

This is in addition to AssaultinDalton's solution. I just found out that you don't actually have to win the Practice Penalty Shootout. I just did a practice shootout as Holland versus Germany. I lost with 4-5, but the Achievement still unlocked.

I just got it.
Played Netherlands -Germany. And i won shoot out by 1. (as netherlands)

Easy, select amateur and any good team and you should get it.

This achievement is way easier then the guide is presenting it to be. All you have to do is go to Game Modes, then choose penalty shoot outs. Once in here put Germany as the home team and you as the away team. Then make sure when you get the controller prompt as to which team you want to play on that you pick the away team. Now all you have to do is win. This is how you get this achievement. NTSC－J Xbox 360. NTSC－J game disc.
