How to unlock the Super Speed achievement in 3 on 3 NHL Arcade - Definitive Guide

Best done with 2 controllers, as you wont have to worry about your opponent scoring and you can keep knocking them down for power-ups.

The power-up for this is shaped as a rocket. After obtaining this power up you will need to score 2 goals with the player its attached to, it does NOT have to be the same player.

Also you will need to attain this power up at least twice, as it disappears after you make the goal.

I had the most trouble with this one, i suggest creating a game with 20 goals if you only have one of these achievements left, focus on getting this only and after you made 2 goals enjoy the rest of the match, finished this game in one day, fun game, but these kind of achievements are not exactly my favourite ones

Well, This was my last Achievement in the game to get. This gave me a ton of trouble. I had tried all the methods seen on various sites. I also had ppl assisting online with multi controllers. I just couldn't get it.

This is what I did. It should help on the other power up cheeves as well.

I started a local multiplayer game with 4 controllers plugged in. I had 2 human controllers on each team. My friend assisted. Your friend should be on your team. We would continue knocking the other team crazy.(An easy way 1 person hold the puck while other bashes the other team) Once the power up is given, the partner will go smash the goalie. Now you have a free lane.

Don't know why this game gave me fits? lol

I found this to be one of the trickier power up achievements to get as well, primarily because it was harder to control how fast I was going and it didn't really give any power bonus. Anyway...

Once again it is suggested that you use two controllers but you are not limited to this as a singleplayer easy match with however many goals to win is fine. Crosby is a good choice due to his balanced abilities but be warned, with this power up he really flies.

As Crimson said the symbol for this power up is a rocket. In order to get the power up to drop tackle the other team using B to get power ups to drop (Usually more common when the other player has the puck). With rocket skates you want to fly down to the other side of the rink before the defenders get there and swoop around back once again for the goal. It may take a couple tries but with persistence it will happen.

This one is easier with two people because you don't have to worry about other players coming back to interrupt you from going around the back of the net but usually if you are playing bots you get back fast enough with Crosby to make the goal. Once again you need to goals which can be done with any character so if you have a defender with the power up you may as well give it a go.

Super Speed
10G - Score two goals with a Super Speed Powerup in one game.

This can be done against the AI or a 2nd controller. Start up a game with your guest on the opposite team, power-ups on & the score to 20 (in case you mess up.)

Now body check your guest with cn_B until a power-up that looks like a rocket drops. Now you have about 10-20 seconds to score a goal. My advice would be to go at the opposing goalie at an angle while deking. This will give you a better shot at the opposite site of the net.

Once you score, you will need to get another "Super Speed" power-up & repeat once more.

This trophy requires you to score 2 goals on the opposing player with a Super-Speed-Boosted Character. Your best shot is to set the goal quota to 20 and check as many players as you can to get those player-boosting power-ups onto the ice. Checking can be executed with the circle button or by flicking the right thumbstick (I prefer the thumbstick). Remember that the NPCs on your team like to check the enemy goalie from time to time, so wait for that if you have trouble making shots. Slapshots can be executed by bringing back the right thumbstick and sharply pushing it in the direction you wish to shoot. Difficulty and game speed do not affect this trophy.

Make sure to set you game up so the goal limit is 15, so you'll have the maximum amount of chances to gain this.

To get power ups you need to check your opponents. The powerup required for this is a rocket, the game announcer will also call it out when you pick it up. While you have this power up score 2 goals with the player it is attached to. You can not do this with just one Super Speed Powerup, since your powerup goes away after a goal. So pick it up again to gain the second goal. Also, see the "Juggernaut" achievement for tips on scoring goals.

*This can be boosted with a second controller or online*

To get this trophy you need to score two goals in one game with the Super Speed powerup on. Once again only the person with the Super Speed powerup can score to get this trophy. Same as before you get powerups by pressing the button near an opposing player to check them. The powerup looks like a rocket. Just skate over the powerup to pick it up. This one is easier then the Big Player trophy to get because its much easier to score with this powerup. With the player that has the powerup on skate from side to side in front of the net and when goalie lags behind trying to catch up to you shoot and score. Aim for the side he is not on because if you try to shoot on the side he's on he will most likely save it. Same as before you can easily use two controllers or boost with someone online to help get this trophy.
