How to unlock the Passed the forest achievement in A Boy and His Blob - Definitive Guide

This is the first world you play. The main hub between levels is the Boy's treehouse. You will have 2 maps on ground floor inside said treehouse.

The larger map is the one you will need to choose your level. Of which there are 10. It starts off nice and simple, and some easy puzzles to complete if you are also going for all 30 chests within this world. Really not hard to find.

To complete each level, you just need to find the Glowing/sparkling jellybean at the end of the level. Not hard at all, and breaks you in gently.

Anyway, the last level will be completed not after picking up the Glowing orange jelly bean at the end, but after the boss fight. No need to fear, its really very easy.

Boss: Giant black worm.

Stage One: Give Blob the yellow jelly bean, and transform him into the anvil. Push him towards the worm, an he will attack but hit his head and lower the poles either side of the screen.

Stage Two: There will be a horizontal pole above you with an electrified section in the middle. Give Blob an orange jellybean to transform him into a trampoline, and jump up onto the slightly thicker piece of the pole. The worm will attack and shock himself.

Stage Three: The final stage here. Get ready to give Blob a red jellybean. But wait until our worm friend launches skywards. You will see an elliptical shadow on the floor. When it stays still, press an hold B to throw the jellybean over to the shadow, and the worm will drop through into the water.

A short death animation will follow, and an easy 25g will be yours for keeps.

If there is anything you wish me to add or change to the guide, let me know and I'll adjust it for you. If it helps, give it a thumbs up so I know it's all good.

The forest world is the first map you'll clear. 10 areas on the map in the treehouse.

After clearing the 10th, you'll be confronted with a snake-like dark creature.

To defeat him there are three different stages of the battle.

Stage 1:
When he first appears, the snake will just block your way. If you try to approach him, he'll strike at you, but you would have enough time to back away. This should give you the hint to use that behavior to your advantage.
Note the strike point and throw an anvil jelly bean at that spot by holding the circle button and moving the left stick to aim. Release the circle button once you've decided.
If you placed the jelly bean correctly, the snake will strike its head onto the Blob anvil and shake the area so that an electric wire drops down, hanging between two poles, with a broken sparking section at the center.

Stage 2:
The snake will now swap sides from time to time so keep to the center.
Place a trampoline jelly bean below one of the thicker rectangular wire sections.
Jump up to the wire and lure the snake to strike at the center spark.
The snake will shock itself, collapse the wire and poles, and drop back down.

Stage 3:
The snake will now be more active.
Besides swapping sides, it will also shoot itself into the air and try to drop on top of you.
The clue to where it will drop lies in its shadow that shows as a circle on the ground.
Aim and throw a hole jelly bean at where it will drop.
The snake will drop through the hole into the water below.
That will melt it and the snake will jump back out, writhing and melting into a puddle.

On loading the next night-time scene where you'll walk back home, this trophy will pop.

Congratulations!

Story related and cannot be missed.

The forest world initially has ten stages and a boss battle, but will gain two extra stages and an additional boss fight once you've completed the citadel world. However, this trophy will unlock once you've finished the initial ten stages and the boss fight.

The snake boss at the end of the forest world is rather simple. First, throw an anvil jelly bean into the middle of the stage to bait the snake into striking at the blob. At this point, some wires will come down from the sky. Feed the blob a trampoline jelly bean and jump up and stand on one of the platforms attached to the wire. Jump over to the platform by the electricity, and wait for the snake to start to strike, then jump over the electricity so the snake electrocutes itself. You will fall back to the ground. Finally, the snake will jump into the air and you'll see its silhouette moving slowly from one side of the screen to the other. Throw a hole jellybean so it lands where the silhouette stops (you'll have a bit of time), so that the snake will dive straight into the hole. Congratulations on defeating the first boss!

Important note: If, like me, you turned off the game after defeating the snake boss, and upon returning found that you were still in the forest world then you're going to need to beat the boss again (play the final forest level again, and you'll be taken to the boss) and complete the small interim stage to get to the next hideout. Surprisingly, the game does not auto-save your place in the overworld after defeating bosses, so be careful! This applies to all bosses of the game.
