How to unlock the Put a Badge On It achievement in A Hat in Time - Definitive Guide

At the start of act 3 you will be at a pier. Go to the bridge that leads back to the mainland and you will see a man crying. Talk to him and the prompt will start for you to get his camera back. Jump on the snowflake platform, double jump towards the island, and slide using cn_RT . Climb up to the top of the island and pick up the camera for your first badge, it auto equips so it should pop immediately.

Alternatively buying a badge from Glitch the shopkeeper will earn this as well.

During your journey through A Hat in Time, you'll discover a strange purple-and-red individual that seems to glitch in place, known only as the Badge Seller. It will sell you Badges for your collected Gem Pons with the lowest being the Magnet Badge and the highest being the Mumble Badge. By buying a Badge, you will automatically equip it into the first slot on your hat.

In your first encounter, you may hopefully have 50 Pons by then to buy the Magnet Badge, equipping it and giving you this trophy. Be sure to talk to it throughout your journeys, as you will need to find the Badge Pins that it offers in order to equip more and get another trophy.

In each world throughout the game you will find a strange creature called the Badge Seller. You can purchase many different badges from him that you will need for other trophies but you will also be able to find some badges in the world and will be given some as part of the story. The first badge you can find is the Camera Badge, and you can get it as soon as Act 2 in Mafia Town. On the outskirts of town will be a road with a tourist who has lost his camera to some seagulls. Jump over to the rocks he is pointing at to pick up the badge and it will automatically be equipped, giving you the trophy.

You will unlock this through natural progression of the game. You can easily get the camera badge from the tourist in Mafia Town on the very first act of the game.
