Scattered all over Adal are Cairns, a stack of rocks with a unique glow to them. They contain pieces of gear which you can equip to your character and improve certain stats. You will have found a few of these during your initial playthrough but some are hidden quite well. To find them all, you need to have finished the story and defeated Jinn Mesca to access two areas.
For a visual walkthrough of all the Cairns and a location for Jinn, see the Cairn Locations Guide.

There are 22 of these caches in total. In each location, on average, there are about 2-3 pyramids containing loot. The only locations in which there are no pyramids at all are the place of the fight with Rysrin and the couple of locations preceding it. (There is only one cache in the Essence Vault!) There are 4 caches in the Colosseum, but you can only open one of them when you fight the Djinn Mesca. There are 3 caches in the Forgotten Temple. On the Hunter's Path - 3. In the Adal Tower - 3. At the Calling Birds Outpost - 2. In the Central Port - 3. On the Orat Border - 3.

There are 4 caches in the Adal Tower, not 3 - one behind the gate, in a small area near the dilapidated houses, on the way to the Oratian Quarter. There are 23 caches in total.
