Big thanks to @Fatal x Blade for noting this challenge mode is the fastest and easiest to do. I recommend this mode for original, high score and caravan mode.
1. Choose "Challenge Mode (VS CPU)"
2. Pick Easy/Normal difficulty. (@Pigimus Prime confirmed all achievements can be earned on easy. Personally I found normal easier because of more opponents)
3. Choose "World" (Bottom row, far right)
The key is to defeat the opponents fast as possible to get tonnes of points.
- Connecting combo's will speed this up
- Plan ahead and see which lines you can connect next. Sometimes you might notice me lining some close together in 2's then earning quick combos.

I actually did my high score and caravan mode on the puzzle mode which takes much longer and more difficult. Original mode believe it or not is probably the hardest.
Me reaching 199k in Caravan mode.

Hey mate thanks for all your tips. I will add though that you definatley CAN play on easy and get ALL achievements. I was struggling on normal having watched your video but the clear times on easy meant i achieved around 50k on most stages making the achievements a breeze

You can use the Challenge mode to get all of the achievements in this game. You want to defeat your opponent as soon as possible in order to get huge bonus and super fast completion. Here is a video showing how to do that:

The following method will help you get the 1000 G's out in less than 15 minutes
There are 6 hidden characters in this game that can be occupied by doing a trick. To do this quickly and effectively I recommend that you choose "TOWER" which causes the CPU to lose very quickly. In the Hi Score game mode I got up to 260,000 points on EASY which makes this method even faster.
The method is this:
In order to play with tower, at the character select screen, highlight Sun and press "Y" 3 times while the countdown timer is at 19 seconds. If done correctly the tiles for the secret players will Appear onto the character select screen, Tower will be at the top center area.
This method works for any achievement and the easy difficulty doesn't affect it and you can reach over 200,000 with no problem.
