How to unlock the Score 300,000 points achievement in ACA NEOGEO SAMURAI SHODOWN - Definitive Guide

This is guaranteed way of getting this achievement, and the other two points achievements along the way, in less than five minutes.

Use two controllers, start Original Mode, and press the bumper buttons on both controllers to add credits to the game.

For P1, choose Charlotte. For P2, any character will do. Once the game starts, press up on cn_LS, and as you're dropping down, press cn_RT. If done correctly, you'll do a downwards heavy slash attack that takes a chunk of health off P2. Repeat till you win, and repeat for the Round 2. You should now have over 100,000 points. Do not continue on P2. Instead, once the next round starts, press cn_back, and choose to "Create an interrupt save".

Leave the game, and go to the main menu. Choose Original Mode again, and the game would load from where you created the save. The 100,000 points achievement should automatically unlock now.

ACA NEOGEO SAMURAI SHODOWNScore 100,000 pointsThe Score 100,000 points achievement in ACA NEOGEO SAMURAI SHODOWN worth 83 pointsThe score won 100,000 points.

Press cn_start on the second controller now to join the game as P2, and repeat the above until you get 200,000 points. Do not continue on P2, create an interrupt save, leave the game, and return to unlock the 200,000 points achievement.

ACA NEOGEO SAMURAI SHODOWNScore 200,000 pointsThe Score 200,000 points achievement in ACA NEOGEO SAMURAI SHODOWN worth 88 pointsThe score won 200,000 points.

Press cn_start on the second controller again to join the game as P2, and repeat the above until you get 300,000 points. Do not continue on P2, create an interrupt save, leave the game, and return to unlock the 300,000 points achievement.

The reason you need to keep leaving the game is because the achievements do not unlock when you're doing versus matches, even after you finish them without continuing on P2. By using the interrupt saves after you hit the landmark scores, you're basically tricking the game into thinking that you've gotten those scores solo. You need to do it for each landmark score because if you go straight to 300,000 points, the two lower scores achievements won't unlock.

Hope this helps!

PS: You can use any character you want for P1, but Charlotte's cheap move ends the fights very quickly, and give you maximum points in the least amount of time.

You press the bumper buttons to add credits. It's mentioned in the solution.

Thank you for the solution. If you are having problems with the controllers just make sure they both are turned on before you load the game up.

Literally cannot get a second player to join in. No amount of settings changes, restarting, syncing controllers, being signed in on the second controller, not being signed in on the second controller, uninstalling, mashing bumpers, NOTHING lets me add a second player.

Trying to figure out how to do this trick on Hi Score and Caravan. I saw others say that it works on those modes, so if someone could help me out that'd be awesome. Thanks in advance!

I have tried extensively trying to get this to work but no go. Restarts, explicit profile binding and anything else suggested above but nothing.

Can confirm @LAUGHINGOCTOPU5's comment. No need to create multiple save files.

The reason I suggested to do the saves is because this game has the tendency to not give you the 100,000 and 200,000 achievements. If you get it in one save, that's great. Many of us didn't.

If you take a look at my profile for this game, I unlocked the 300,000 points achievement only on my first attempt. I had to replay from scratch, and used what I mentioned in my solution to get the other two about 30 minutes later.

And how do you add a second controller? I'm not able to add credits or choose a character with my second controller. I have tried logging in as a guest and with another gamertag on the second controller but it still won't let me add credits in the screen where I add credits to P1. Tried English and Japanese versions, nothing. Tried pressing Menu button where it says press Menu on P1 or P2, nothing. Tried going into the game and pressing Menu on the second controller when the text is flashing there telling me to press Menu to join with P2, nothing...

I eventually got it to work, but man, is it not intuitive. I had to restart my console after just leaving the game without shutting it not. Login to my main profile as the other controller I wasn't originally using, and someone that let it happen. These games are a mess with stuff like this. Cheesing achievements aside, shouldn't it be super easy to just play 2 player if you wanted to play with a friend?

Like Fatal Fury 2, works with two controlers, just put a coin with RB on controller two and win with perfect, you need 3 fights to get 300.000, before that, if achievements dont unlock, make a save state, close the game, open the game again, load the save and fight against cpu, this works for me.

Use Charlotte. Use the RT heavy attack while jumping toward the enemy. Make sure you stay aggressive so you can finish the rounds as quick as possible. If you manage to beat the round record of 75 seconds left on the clock then you will get a bonus.
-First place record 30,000 points.
-Second place record 20,000 points.
-Third place record 10,000 points.
If you manage to beat one of your own records you will be given a bonus again based on 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
Make sure to change time to slowest in the settings to make it easier to beat the record time.
Original mode starts at 10:27 in the video below.

Original mode is always the easiest mode in these ACA games. This game along with some others is set to remove all of your points when you lose a fight. I have tried using two controllers but it does not seem to have the points count toward this achievement.

I would set it up to easiest difficulty and put the time to slowest.

I would choose Haohmaru. Best move would be cn_RT imo (or cn_X and cn_A together I Believe). If you are far enough, cn_right(forward)cn_RT is a good move. You can also jump towards them and press cn_RT in mid-air then maybe do a cn_down cn_RT. That move can also be done if they are jumping towards you. I would try and play defensively against most characters. Just block and once they are done with their move do a forward slash. That might help.

If you managed to get one of the fastest times, you are awarded bonus points. The default best time I believe is 75 seconds for each individual fight. 3rd best time gives you 10,000. 2nd best time gives you 20,000. Finaly the 1st best time gives you 30,000. Always aim for those if you can. You get points in a match based on health remaining, time left, and hit percentage. So try not to miss but don't go restarting if you miss a hit, it isn't that detramental.

If you do not have enough points by the time you reached the bonus stage, you can get 20,000+ points from there if you hit at least 10 of those things.

If I missed anything or if you feel something is wrong, let me know. Good luck on the completion. toast
