How to unlock the Frequent Flyer achievement in ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN - Definitive Guide
Just like the other solution said, you can look up your flight distance in the campaign records if you want to see how much progress you made.
But here are some tips for you to grind that achievement in a faster matter than just playing the campaign. As a matter of fact, when I finished doing the achievement for every medal, I had over 39.000 km done in something about 150 campaign sorties. So just by doing the other achievements you can already get a good amount done. Since I didnt want to do another 150 I tested if FREE FLIGHT MODE works and yes, if you fly through the whole 30 minutes it will save your progress.
To be extra efficient I used the fastest plane in the game, the MIG-31B FOXHOUND and used every part that pushed my speed.
Those are: Light Blisk, Cutting-Edge Airbrakes, Next Gen High-Pressure Components, Variable Cycle Engine, ECU Software Upgrade and Queen's Custom.
Additionally, if you dont want to fly yourself you will need a rubber band or tape.
Choose one of the bigger campaign maps, fly to the middle and to almost 11000 meters (you will be 300km faster that way than on normal height, I had a Speed of 3885 km/h there compared to the 3450 i got at something like 2000 meters). When you get there, level your plane with the auto pilot (LB/RB), just rubber band/tapeRB and RT and watch your plane fly in circles for half an hour. Just repeat till you get to the amount needed.
You will get the achievement the moment you cross the mark while still in the mission.
To compare: In Mission 12, in a run on Easy and destroying everything i got maybe 400km done. In half an hour with this method I got 2000km done.
If you have questions, complaints about this solution or generally some tips, just write me a message. Im always happy to help out.

Thank you, its only my third solution and the second time I did it completely myself so it means something for me if others like it.
As a side note: on the stats page on xbox for the game, free flight kilometers do not count to the campaign statistic while in-game it will (as long as you fly through the whole 30 minutes).

You're welcome Sh0wt1m3, it's a pretty good one. ^_^
As for what you said about the stats page, what you're saying is to add up the Campaign and Free Flight distances because Free Flight is separate from Campaign yet still counts towards the total, yes?

When you go into Campaign Records, Flight Distance is measured in miles instead of kilometres, so for those of you wondering, 76,500 km is 47,534.896 miles, and after two and a half days of playing the game myself, I'm at 7,525.18 miles, so I'm roughly about a seventh of the way there. Anyway, there's the number you need to push for, off we go into the wild blue yonder everyone!

Might've been patched, keep in mind I wrote this guide almost a year ago, and the game got many updates since its release date, including complete rewrites of achievement descriptions in the first week after release. If people are still seeing it in miles, there's the number they need to go for, and you know where you have to go in km because it's in the description of the achievement.

Major Grind Warning
This trophy may not sound too bad initially but once you realize how much distance this actually is, you’ll realize why this will be one of the last trophies you will earn. After 4+ playthroughs, you will likely only be at 35,000 km flown in campaign. To check you progress on this, go to DATA VIEWER > CAMPAIGN DATA and your total flight distance will be on the first page. You can keep playing campaign missions to rack up distance and MRP if you want, but there is another way to earn this trophy.
In order to earn this trophy the easier way, all you will need is a rubber band and something to hold down your button. After achieving all other trophies in the game (unless you want to earn MRP Aplenty in multiplayer) you will have to grind in Free Flight. You will want to pick a mission with little to no clouds (I suggest “Long Day”) in Free Flight and pick the MiG-31B as your aircraft. Turn the controls to “simple” and equip the Light Bisk, Next Gen High Pressure Component, Variable Cycle Engine, and Queen’s Custom parts. Rubber band your left analog stick to the right in a way that you will stay at the same altitude, and place some kind of heavy object to jam down the button, then leave the controller alone for the 30 minute mission. All of the distance that your plane travels during the 30 minutes your plane is flying itself will count for your overall total. You will only travel about 1,710 km on average during this session, so do not use this right off the bat in the game as even using this method you will need to do many of these Free Flight missions to get you up to 76,500 km total regardless of your total before doing this method.
Here's an alternative method, courtesy of fadingtrails:
Your aircraft's top speed will increase by over 350kph the higher you fly so at around cloud level, the Foxhound's speed will be 3540kph. At 11.000 km its top speed will be 3895kph. Just get to 11.000, press + to engage auto-pilot and level the craft, then - if you want to - use a wide and strong rubber band to keep and pressed. You want to use yaw because using the will cost you speed.

In the Campaign, select “Free Flight”, select map 19, and on the MIG-31 select characteristics that improve the maximum speed. We fly to the middle of the map at an altitude of 11,000, hold down And rubber bands and after 30 minutes, that is, until the end of the level, repeat the required number of times. One such flight is 1700-1900 km.
