When you approach the giant sundial, take the stairs on your left (shown by the left arrow) and you will arrive at the glowing tree. At the base of the tree, there is a box with a triangular slot. Take your kaleidoscope and put it in that slot and the achievement will unlock. Just remember that there is a collectible item in the box (earrings) along with the lantern. Collect them both before you leave.

To get the kaleidoscope, you first need the hooked staff. This can be found in the pile of rocks next to the main gate with the hole. Use the hooked staff on the hole to get to the kaleidoscope from inside the satchel.
When you get to the scene with the glowing tree (path left of sundial), use the kaleidoscope on the box with the triangular key slot in the grass.
