When you go into the house mostly through the game, upstairs on the right is Bill's room. There are 4 records and 4 tapes. You can listen to a tape and a record at the same time, but you must let them play through to the end for each to count.

As the achievement indicates.....a single record. Might be good to add you just need to listen to one to pop the achievement. I just got it after listening to purely one vinyl.
