How to unlock the Grass Cutter achievement in Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion - Definitive Guide

Part of the main mission - cannot be missed. Points to look for during the fight for ease:

- He is weak against fire. Marceline’s fire special attack and fire gems added on basic hits for Jake and Finn will help to get him down in HP. His total HP is 2100.
- He will have two (2) minions with him during the fight. Concentrate on the minions and get them down first - they are the twin fighters which means they hit twice on each of their turns.
- Fern will suck away your special attack energy - do not conserve. If there is a special attack to use, use it or lose it. Batteries could help charge up the meter on Marceline’s turn, but wait for her to use it. He will generally suck out about 5/6 points of energy.
- Fern does three (3) power ups on himself: Attack Up, Speed up, and Agility Up
- Fern will do a double vine attack when he gets to about half his health.
- Stay on top of the health potions - 25% ones should be fine. If you are leveling the characters as much as possible along the way - extra focus on attack and HP leveling - there should be no issues with maintaining health as you may be level 5 by the time reaching here (level 4 minimum, in my opinion).

Not a hard fight. Take your time and it will be over in no time.

-( Story related, cannot be missed )-

Fern is your first real boss and the first real challenge, too. He will be buffed by his comrades, meaning it would be in your best interest to try and debuff him with Bunk effects early on. Jake's tornado attack gives him a chance to cause Boggle on an enemy, lowering their accuracy. Coupling that with either Finn's chance to Freeze or Marceline's chance to Overheat will make it much easier. Or you can always Flump his defense and make your hits more powerful. Don't be afraid to use your Specials, too.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Fern is the boss of the Evil Forest area. To fight him, you'll first need to use Marcy to stealth her way through an area, grab the key to Princess Bubblegum's cell, and return to Finn and Jake.

Fern will show up with two minions – take them out first. Fern is weak against fire damage, and loves using a ton of positive status effects (speed up, attack up, etc) on himself. His most annoying (but thankfully uncommon) attack is to drain your special move meter to refill a bunch of his health. Despite this, he's not too bad - go into this battle with apples and you should be okay.

This is story related and cannot be missed.

Fern is Green Finn and is also weak to fire. His HP is at 2,100. He might be tough if you are under-leveled. Fern will show up in the Evil Forest after you've grabbed the key for locked up Princess Bubblegum. He will have two enemies with him; defeat them first. Fern will use some of your battle energy for his health. Try to use it all during this fight and stray from using any battle items that will recharge it.

Try to save potions for this fight. Using Jake's shield is an alternative for this fight but you'll need energy and its pretty time consuming. Try to go all in with attacks and heals and you should defeat him quickly.
