All you do is play as Marcie or Finn (by hitting LB or RB when on land) and hit X to hit shiny doughnuts or marshmallows or icicles with your sword when you are close to them (they look different depending where you are) and you will get dosh or objects.

You can also jump on them by pressing A.

I have attached a screenshot of what they look like in Candy Land.

Land destructibles count for anything from marshmallows and donuts in the Candy Kingdom, icicles in the Ice Kingdom, and etc. that can be destroyed with Finn's sword, Marceline's ax, riding into them with Jake's mobile form, or even BMO's electric shock. You can get either dosh or items from doing this, meaning it is worth it to not only break any you find but possibly farm for them every now and then early on (so you can get upgrades sooner before leveling up again).
