While the ball is in the air, position yourself near the indicator showing where it will land. Holding LT, press Y to spoil the ball (punch it away), repeatedly tapping Y may make it easier for you to spoil.
The achievement is cumulative so you do not need to perform 50 spoils in one match. Keep playing through the game normally and you'll get it over time.
