How to unlock the Kensei achievement in AFRO SAMURAI - Definitive Guide

To expand a little on Joshnorm's solution above, once you get to the area of the School Invasion where you have to wall-climb and pull down two levers to raise the gate, four blue-uniform enemies will spawn infinitely until you raise the gate.

They spawn from behind the fire at the end of the cliff/corridor.

Position yourself at the boulder on the right hand side, wait for the first enemy to roll-dive out of the fire, and hit him with X once. The second enemy will be jumping out, and as he's about to hit the ground, press LT (focus) and do a Perfect Horizontal Slice. You should get both enemies in one shot. Then, the third guy will roll-dive, hit him with x once, fourth enemy jumps out, wait til he's about to hit the ground, LT+X, hit both at once.

Rinse, repeat. Took me about four tries to get the timing right. Because your position is right where the enemies jump out, it was EXTREMELY efficient in clocking both the 1000 and 2000 kills achievements. Only about 45 minutes. On top of that, you should be able to get the 2000 gallons of blood achievement as well, if you haven't already.

Hope this helps!

So dumb how the game basically forces you to grind out 500 kills by the end of completing both difficultiesangry

Anyways, you can also kick the first ronin who comes out to stun him, then right before the second ronin's feet are about to line up with the body of the 1st ronin: horizontal slice both of them and repeat the same process with the 3rd and 4th ronin. Kinda hard to get the timing down but if you do it: you'll have a nonstop stream of double kills until you mess up the rhythm!

I can confirm this is an excellent strategy, just go the 300 kills that i had left in about 15 mins using this technique! Thanks buddy!

After beating the game on Number One Headband difficulty (Hard), I still needed 200 more kills. I tried grinding the remaining kills using this method but the enemies inflict tons of damage and are very aggressive on that difficulty. Not to mention that dying in this game resets your statistical progress to the last checkpoint. That grinding area is treacherous and full of opportunities to screw up. You can easily fall off the side of the cliff or get stun locked by the nearby flames and potentially lose all your kills if you're not careful. I ended up just playing through the rest of School Invasion and the achievement popped later into the stage. Be careful when grinding kills, etc. in 1 session! If you die you will lose all progress and be reset to the last checkpoint!

Also, make sure you reach a checkpoint or fully complete a level before checking your progress towards kills or any achievements for that matter. Don't just quit out of a level mid-stage. You can check your "enemies defeated" under Options > Statistics at the main menu.

Note: If it's too hard to grind kills on Hard, you can start a New Game+ on Number Two Headband difficulty (Normal) if you want to mop up any remaining kills more easily. You only have to play through 2 levels to get to School Invasion so that you can grind using this method more conveniently.

They all carry over.

First continue playing as normal and do 2 run throughs of the game if you wanted to get the two completed achievements.

After that you should be sitting at around 1400 kills give or take then load up the School Invasion level and play through you should get around 400-500 hundred. Then replay level (it took me 1 1/2 plays)

If i start a new difficulty, can i still get the 2000 kills or do i have to start again from 0?

as the first sentence of this solution states: they carry over, same with the blood spilled.

Solution is a bit inaccurate though. You will get this your second playthrough, no need for grinding

I ended my second playthrough with 1300 Dash, so that's very obviously not the case...

Don't listen to Da ShAg. I was at 1548 kills after my second playthrough.

You have to kill 2,000 enemies during the course of your two playthroughs. Your stats will be brought over from your previous game when you start a new game ONLY WHEN YOU SAY YES TO CARRY YOUR STATS OVER WHEN STARTING A NEW GAME. You will unlock this after your second play through, you’ll get maybe 850 kills per playthrough. Just replay some levels to get the remaining kills for the achievement.

During the passage (if you do not replay the same chapter several times) you will kill about 850 enemies. That is, you need to complete the game more than two times, or simply replay your favorite chapter several times until it stops being your favorite, then love another chapter, and so on.
