How to unlock the Revenge Served? achievement in AFRO SAMURAI - Definitive Guide

Justice can be kinda annoying to beat but if you are patient it wont be that hard at least on normal difficulty. There are a few different phases to justice so it takes some adapting on the fly this boss fight is easily the longest single boss fight in the game, at least it seemed that way to me.

At the very beginning the best thing to do is to close distance to justice, I did this by dashing in a circle around the middle area to stay in front of his bullets and using the trees to block them this seemed like the fastest way to get close to him but you can also block his shots with RT and move forward when he stops shooting. Be careful the bullets can kill you pretty quickly so make sure if you stop there is a tree between you and him. Once you can get close enough to attack him use a dash attack and your combos to do damage to him until he disappears, if he knocks you back instantly block because he will shoot you. Keep doing this and he will disappear move out of the inner circle and keep an eye out for where he ends up right before he stops talking, keep doing the dash attack combo strategy, he likes to teleport around a lot at this point so just keep an eye out for him. After about 5 to 10 minutes of fighting like this there will be a cut scene where you cut his arms off and he transforms that is the end of the first stage of the battle.

In the next part of the battle he moves to the middle of the field and grows long arms, he then uses them to stick into the ground and they come up where you are and hit you. You can see them coming because the ground turns black, when this happens move to the outside of the black circle hold LT to go into focus mode and then when the arm comes out of the ground move in close to it and cut it with a horizontal perfect slice. (hold X until the shine reaches the tip). After you cut a few of them, justice will plunge both arms into the ground and do a power attack, avoid this and continue cutting off the single arms until that phase of the battle ends.

In the next part he will be walking around outside the center ring trying to actively attack you with a spinning move if you are close and another ground move if you are far away, run around him close enough to where he will do the spinning move and wait for him to almost stop spinning dash in and hit him from behind, either hit him once or if you get a good hit throw in a combo, sometimes if you get a bit too greedy he will toss you back out but just keep at it. after a little while of that he will just start casting his arms out at you into the ground just avoid the arms and hit him while he is stuck. After 4 or 5 of those he should start using his arms to walk around don't worry you are getting close, just attack him when you can as you avoid his arms coming up from the ground around him either jump and slash him or attack him while his is on the ground, he will fall like his is winded, depending on how good your attack is at this point you can end the battle here or you may have to deal with the arm walking a few more times and hit him hard while he is down and the battle will be over.

I hope this helped if you see anything I need to change just let me know. Good luck.

I didn't vote, but it would be very useful to find tactics/strategy on defeating Justice on Hard on every phase. Because, the attacks you can do on Normal don't work on Hard, it's a different gameplay!

Well this isnt a beat the game on hard difficulty guide, I will see if I can find a link to a guide that will help you out but this guide will get you the achievement on the easier difficulties. The game is hard enough on normal as it is.

Good guide, I actually just finished the game today and all I can add is that on all phases (for the most part) I hid behind a tree and attacked him from the side and it seemed to work pretty well. He couldn't reach me with any of his arm moves except the one where he jumps on his hands and it sends the black vibrations towards you, but he didn't do it for that long and I was able to continue with the same strategy. Maybe I just got lucky.

Great guide, thumbs up, but in stage three the walking around on arms bit he'll already do at the start of the stage.

Okay, I've finished now and noticed that 'walking around with his arms' comes in two ways :-) Another addition to phase three though: I've found that it was over very quick once I'd started to use focus attacks

I realize this game has been out for quite some time, but after just acquiring it from the bargain bin I thought I might offer some advice. Rather, advice for those with difficulty at beating Justice on Number One difficulty.

In the first stage when he fires five shots followed by one "charged shot", reflect the charged shot. Continue this until you get close to him and slash him once. He will monologue. After that, use the combo yyxxx on him. After each combo, there will be an interim where he will fire two point blank shots at you (one from each gun.) Hold block and then persist with that same combo. This will continue, (as an unbreakable loop for some reason), with him disappearing at certain points to monologue, followed by the occasional sword lock.

Eventually his arms will be cut off and the battle will continue. I realize this is an old game, and only part of a solution but I was stuck here for quite a while until I realized this. It is also worthy of note that when he disappears in puddles to monologue you regain health. In addition, in his second form when he is hunched from exhaustion, if you land a perfect slice (either x or y variety), the fight will end there, saving you minutes (hours?) of agony.

This is the final boss battle that is divided into three separate stages. Each of the three stages act as a checkpoint, so if you die on the third stage, you’ll restart on the beginning of the third stage.

1st stage:
You start off a distance away from Justice, what you need to do is sprint up to him little by little. Stop every meter or so to block the 6 bullets that he shoots at you. After blocking start moving up again, you can use the trees that surround him as cover from his bullets. When you’re close enough to Justice, start attacking him. When in close he’ll use his guns as melee weapons and when you’re at a distance he’ll use his gun to fire six shots at you. He’ll constantly pop into the ground during the fight and start talking for long periods of times. Just run around and stay aware because he can pop out and start attacking you when you least expect it. When he’s covered by black smoke or black fog at anytime, don’t bother attacking him. When he is in that state, he’s invincible and your attacks do nothing. Just keep on attacking when he’s out of the ground until it gets to a cut scene where you cut off his hands, this will lead to the second stage.

2nd stage:
During this stage he’s made a spiral around him made by the trees and he has some freakish tree hands. What you need to do is face him so you can see when he’s about to stick his hands into the ground. When he does and you see a black puddle beneath you, go into focus mode and

dodge to the left or the right by pressing left or right with the and at the same time. He can attack with both of his arms, just follow the same steps as you would with one arm and doge until you have a window to attack. Afterwards, while still in focus mode, use a in focus horizontal slash to attack him. Keep doing so until it comes to a cut scene heading into the third and final stage.

3rd stage:
During this stage he’s invincible for a majority of the stage. The only time you can attack him is when his black cloud isn’t on him making him venerable. The time frame you have to attack him each time is slim, so attack every chance that you get. When he uses an attack where he spins around, sweeping everything in his path with his arms, when he finishes dash up to him and unleash a combo and some in focus attacks on him. Another attack he uses later on is he shoots his arms forward leaving his block exposed to attacks. When it reaches a cut scene where he kneels on the floor, use an in focus attack to finish the battle.

The final boss is surprisingly easy even on high difficulty. Probably because there will be 3 checkpoints throughout the fight. First stage: just try to get close to him, knock down his attack with a normal hit and switch to a series of focus attacks. There shouldn't be any difficulties here - your health will be restored constantly. Second stage: run in a circle, as soon as the tentacle (?) misses, turn around and hit. 6 hits and you move on to the third stage. This is more difficult. Firstly, when the boss is in a black cloud, you can't hit him, secondly, you can only hit with focus attacks. Well, otherwise everything is as usual: dodge - respond with an attack, so on until the end
