After attempting FlettyBEAN and Ethical Sin's method for around two hours with no luck, I went searching the intertubes and found a different method. I take no credit for its finding/figuring out, but wanted to post it here. Saw it in multiple places, so I don't know who is the originator of it.

Seemingly, the issue (for me anyways) with popping them up in the air was that both hands and both feet needed to be be removed from the target. I just couldn't do it.

Instead, try the following (I used the blue/tan hatted mooks in School Invasion):

Hit XXX
Focus (left trigger)
Perfect Vertical Slice (hold Y till the spark reaches the end), but aim it towards the left (or right) side

The XXX hits are so that the blade will be an upwards sweep rather than a downwards sweep on the PVS.

I can confirm FlettyBEAN's strategy. I was just toying around when I first came to the section of SCHOOL INVASION in which you are supposed to close the main gate. Outside the gate, the enemies will continue to spawn and jump over the flames. I was just enjoying killing them repeatedly and thus:

I stood roughly where they land after their jumps. Focus and Sweep Kick when they land, sending them airborne. Use the X focus (horizontal) and aim roughly at the top of their now-horizontal body.

After about 10 kills or so it popped. I then ended up getting the "Torso From Tail" in the same spot.

i found an easy way when next to enemy hold LT then press B to leg sweep them they will go up into the air swinging there legs and arms just aim high using X so it skims there body and you will cut off there toes and fingers if timed right it seems to work 50% of the time i do it hope this helps guys

Easiest way to do it is against androids, Use a perfect vertical slash towards the side of them like you are trying to chop off hands or feet and eventually you will get it because of the way they stand. hold LT then press and hold Y and release when the shine reaches the end.

I was trying very hard to get that achievement and I finally found a perfect solution.

I got it with hitting X X X and then a focus vertical slash [Focus+Y] aiming left. After 3 X hits the slash will be from the ground up, aim it to the left and it will chop enemy foot and hand at the same time.


so the perfect solution step by step:

1. approach the enemy (best choice would be weak ronins from level 1 or 2)
2. hit him with X X X and immediately after that
3. enter focus LT, use vertical slash Y and aim left / [LT+Y] and aim left with LS

This way that achievement will pop out after only few attempts.
