This game has some problems with achievements not popping.

Well there's nothing wrong with my solution, it's a problem with the game. I had an achievement bug on me as well. It was even a story based unmissable.

It may come later because this specific achievement is the first of three related achievements. If you do any of the three related tasks, you earn this, and a second from two out of the three tasks.

I can confirm that, if you somehow miss this one, but get the other two, you only need a partial playthrough. I used the same game-profile after completing my good run, and it started anew. After completing the "A" chapter, I played through "B" until getting upstairs to Betty's room. After performing this tidying task the second time around, it unlocked the 3 of 3 tidy achievements (Cesium), thus not requiring playing through to repeat tidy #2 and #3.

The key note is that, upon viewing the clock, he states that he is uneasy. I had trouble at first, so I backed out (same deal as the first playthough that I missed). However, after going back in, I first interacted with the clockface to zoom in, and then I kept turning the hands, trying to go past 12:00. It stopped at 12, and Poirot stated he felt better about it now; the trick seems to be to ensure he says something, and that the appropriate achieve unlocks while still viewing the clock (unless the LIVE service is running slow in awarding what you earned).

Yeah, I couldn't unlock this achievement either until he said something. The trick is to move the big (minute) hand clockwise in full until it stops.

I kept moving the hands from start to 12 and back several times. Eventually he says “there that’s better.” Then pop.
