Agatha Knife

This is easily the first achievement you can receive in the game. But do not go for this achievement in the same playthrough as The Richest Girl in the Cemetery (not spending any money through the whole game), as it will void that one.

At the very start of the game, you begin in a Church. After some quick dialogue with your Mom, go to the left and talk to the elderly couple in the front row (use the to hover the pointer over them, press and then press ). Keep pressing to go through all of their dialogue until it ends, and they will automatically suggest that you buy some cheese and they will give you some money. After this, go right to the FAITH ATM machine. Press to open your inventory (you'll go through a quick inventory tutorial). Select the money with , and then use to hover the pointer over the ATM machine and press . Select the flashing blue arrow at the bottom of the ATM, and press to get the candle. Open your inventory again with , select the candle with , and use to hover over the cheese to the right of the ATM machine. Press to use the candle on the cheese.

Achievement unlocked! 💚

You unlock the achievement when you use a candle on a cheese. This occurs in the church where you first gain full control of Agatha after a very short introduction introducing Agatha. The following is a detailed solution intended for those who wish to complete the game using one playthrough. It also applies to approaches using multiple playthroughs; however, a manual save is not required in those instances.

Once you control Agatha, walk to the front right pew of the church and talk to the couple there. If you press , you will bring up the control scheme. As soon as you move the right stick, , an arrow appears. Using this arrow, the mechanics require you to highlight the object(s), animal(s), or person(s) you wish to observe or interact with and press . You then select from one or more choices with the indicated button choice.

So, you would highlight the couple with the arrow using the right stick, press to see your options. Then select the button prompt, , to converse with them. Exhaust the conversation and the generous couple will give you some cash. You can see the cash in your inventory by pressing . The first time you check your inventory in this manner, you will get a short tutorial that includes how you save the game on the pig USB memory stick hanging from Agatha's bag.

Before you proceed, make a save. Because there is an achievement for not spending money throughout the game, whenever we are required to pay for something in order to get an achievement, once the achievement pops, we will revert to a save made before the money was spent. HIghlight the pig and press to make the save.

Once you have made the save, highlight the cash in the inventory, and press . The cash will appear above Agatha's head ready to be used. Walk to the ATM at the back of the church behind Agatha's mom and use it on the "FAITHATM" machine (Right stick to place the arrow on the ATM followed by pressing ). Pick up the candle it dispenses (highlight the dispensing slot with the arrow and press the interact button to pick up the candle).

Now, press to see the candle in inventory. Highlight it and press . It appears above Agatha's head ready to be used. Use the candle on the cheese to the right of the ATM (Right stick to place the arrow on the cheese followed by pressing ). This unlocks the achievement. It may take a second or two to pop. Wait until it does. Stay in place and, especially, do not exit the church to avoid triggering an auto-save that would over-write your manual save.

Once you have earned the achievement, press to bring up the XBox panel. Select the game and press . Choose quit. Relaunch the game. When the main menu comes up, select continue. Agatha will appear where she was when you made the save on the pig USB memory stick before the money was spent. Exit the church without going to the ATM machine and continue with the game.
