Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition

Easiest way is to destroy your own castle.

Start a random map game on easiest difficulty, infinite resources, post imperial age. Make sure treaties are off.

Build a siege workshop (or a few) and a build a castle until it's at 95%.

Create some Onagers/Mangonels and order them to attack ground on the unfinished castle.

2023 Xbox update: To attack ground on the console version, select the onagers, hold right trigger, then select the attack ground option top right (picture of a boulder).

The easiest way i found to do this was to play regicide, put the game on extreme difficulty with 2 players only.

Set a 10 minute treaty. put the game on fast speed.

choose spain for you.

then just build a wall of 96% castles between you and the computer then when the treaty timer runs out the computer will storm you and destroy your first castle giving you the achievement in about 5 real minutes.

Actually easy.

Start a standard game with infinite resources, map revealed on at least Standard difficulty. The rest actually doesn't matter that much.

The reason behind standard is, that the enemys will build some sort of military, that you'll need.

Build a dozen of villagers and send them near to the enemy base. If they get attacked on the way, make some infantry to protect them.

If you are in the enemys base, start building a castle asap and lookout for the 95% counter. Then leave the area and recall all your military units.

The enemys will then start attacking your unfinished castle and the achievement will pop mid-game.


To make this quicker use the Spains (they build faster).
Sidenote: Make sure, that the enemy don't get all reliquies (?), otherwise the will win way too quickly
