How to unlock the Coup D'état achievement in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide
Very easy achievement on Standard.
Basically boom your economy as usual by reaching castle age asap and building more town centers to produce more villagers. Use your two scouts to spot gold veins around the map and relics. Get the relics and send villagers to mine gold.
You can go anywhere on the map as all factions are non-hostile except for red, who is on the west side of the map.
You might need a small army to defend from red attacks or build a castle on the west part of your base from where they come from. Their attacks are very easy to handle on Standard.
When possible, reach Imperial Age and research the technology that lowers (and then cancels) tribute fees at the market.
When it's done, spam tributes to the other factions and they will quickly reach 100 and become your allies. You can tribute any resource you want.
You need to ally just three of them but I think it's quicker to win by being an ally with all of them, instead of allying with three and killing the rest. It's really fast once you have a good economy going.

Easier way
Don't build a castle in Paris.
Start send carts over all the dukes to generate gold. (30 +)
Don't change any diplomacy
Starting the game colecting as much relics as you can. I got 5 in land and 3 in mini islands at west. But if you spot all in the land before send villagers to palisade around them and avoid others dukes to capture it. Then destroy de palisades and take the relics safe. If some priests around, use a mangodel to shoot in the ground and kill them before to take the relic.
Each civilization gets diplomacy improvements based in what you do in the game. The last one is the Grey one which I send some gold to buy them support.
The only one fight is against the norse in the west. 40 crossbowman + 20 pally + 4 trbuchets
