How to unlock the Forged in Iron achievement in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

Start a skirmish game with unlimited resources, just focus on building the needed buildings for each age so you can advance to the next. I reached Iron Age at minute 13.

Edit: unlocks after ending the game.

Assuming you need to start the skirmish on Standard - Starting Age for this to work?

none of the skirmish achievements are unlocking and the "win with" too

Pretty sure they are broken since the Victors and Vanquished DLC came out. Also get AI script errors for some of the campaigns that stop you from completing them as well.

For me this unlocked after the skirmish game was complete - not immediately after reaching the Iron Age

Xbox Solution

Skirmish
Babylonians v Egyptians
Wonder Race
Hill Country - tiny map - all visible
Difficulty - easiest
Speed - fast
Starting age - Stone
End age - Iron
Treaty - 5 mins


Build what is requested to advance and after you hit Iron Age resign.

Took me a few goes with different settings to get it too pop but this worked for me.

Confirming you must set starting age to Stone Age. I tried starting at Bronze Age and it did not unlock.
