How to unlock the Not Just a Militia achievement in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

If you simply want this achievement in the fastest time without having to do anything, just load up the Bari Campaign in the European Campaigns list. Select the first mission 'Arrival at Bari'. As soon as the mission starts the achievement pops.

This is how I got it, just going through the campaigns. Popped soon as the first stage loaded.

This can be achieved with the first tutorial.

This will come naturally however you can start a level in either the Dark or Feudal Ages. As with several of the achievements in this title update, a good level is the William Wallace learning campaign mission 4: Research and Technology. Simply follow the instructions given and you will unlock this when you complete the objective for upgrading your Militia to Men at Arms.
