How to unlock the Yamato Victory achievement in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

You can get all of the "Won as.... " achievements by just setting up a game like this:

Gamemode: Deathmatch
Victory Condition: Score
Score: 4000
Starting Age: Post-Iron

You should win the match instantly after starting it.

Thank you, this worked immediately! One small thing, it’s Post-Iron Age rather than post imperial. And if anyone is wondering why Yamato doesn’t show up in the main skirmish window, it’s because you need to click the Return to Rome DLC option on the left side of the main menu. Might be worth pointing that out!

I tried everything written above and it didn't work.
I tried the normal way and that didn't work either.

Does anyone know a solution for this in 2024?

It didn’t work for me either. I tried with several civilizations of the DLC return of Rome in vain.
However, I used exactly the same technique since the base game and it worked there.
I hope that the update that accompanied the last DLC did not break some achievements.
