How to unlock the Classic Conquest achievement in Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition - Definitive Guide
Your objectives for this mission are:
- Establish a settlement (after destroying small Tatar/Mongol camp)
- Reach Kazan
- Break through outer walls
- Break through inner walls
- Kill Khan's guard -> this finishes the mission!
TL:DR -> attack from the west, kill everything on walls, destroy buildings, don't attack orange, remember about small group outside of the city to the east. Then and only then kill orange.
Start by moving up the road and killing any Tatar units and buildings until you're given some villagers and a monk. Immediately leave one villager at your side of the ford and build a stone wall with stone gate. You'll want to send your archers there. Send another villager to the ford to north-east and build another stone wall with the gate, then send your musketeers to those walls. The rest can build a town centre in the middle of former Tatar camp. Once your walls are built, send one villager to build a stone wall with gate to the ford at far east. You don't have to defend it, I built it to ensure enemy's pathing won't be weird and they will pick the most direct route. Once you turtle your part of the map expand, buy technologies, buy few more ranged units (especially for the west ford) and prepare your attack. You can grab 3 relics with your warrior monk, one is to the south-west from your base, one to the east by the river and one on the other side of the river from the isolated ford (the undefended one, turn east after crossing it). Store them in your monastery, build a lot of hunting cabins (plateau at the south) and you'll have 0 problems with money. Make sure you get a scout to... scout.
Now to the invasion. I attacked with 35 knights, 12 archers, 15 crossbowmen, 30 musketeers, 3 cannons, 3 warrior monks, 15 men-at-arms and a villager to repair my cannons. All fully upgraded. Attack from the west ford and move further east obliterating everything that you can find. There are no hidden buildings or units so you'll be fine if you kill everything around the road. I stole sheep with my scout and brought them back home, I didn't want them to look "red". Once you reach the city walls, use your cannons and break through from north-west (in relation to Kazan, at the end of the road by the bridge). Send your knights first and kill everything inside. Build some military production buildings in Kazan to rebuild your army. Send musketeers on one destroyed wall (I picked the one leading east) and move along it destroying every unit you can find. You can send archers and crossbowmen on the western wall and destroy everything there. If you see Orange cavalry, do not engage! Literally run away from them! This is Khan's guard. Prioritise destroying every unit and building (including wonder) in the city and on outer walls. Once it's clear destroy southern Kazan gate (the one closest to your east ford) and move with your units to destroy small patrol outside the city. Destroy pastures and steal their sheep. If you demolished each red building and killed all reds in the city, outside of the city and on walls (including those inner walls that you haven't breached), you can attack gates. I destroyed landmarks inside their inner fortress just to be sure. Move in, kill Khan's guards and the mission will finish.
If done correctly, the achievement will pop during after mission cinematic.

Took me about 1h and 35m but I wanted to make absolutely sure that every enemy and building was dead on the map. Better safe than sorry. And indeed the achievement pops during the cinematic when you click on continue.
