This achievement can be acquired in mission 4. After razing the first village (Martigny) you will be able to request units using gold. Gold is earned by looting the little treasures located around the two towns. There are two options from where to acquire your knights. Raoul of Tosny and Elias of Maine. Raoul gives you 5 knights per purchase while Elias gives you 20. To get this achievement acquire 1300 gold and purchase two groups of knights from Elias. This will give you a total of 40. To get the remaining knights spend 300 more gold on Raoul to get the rest of the 5 knights needed. There are more than enough gold chests in this scenario to get this achievement. I have listed one way to get enough.
Additional information for where to find the gold chests:
400 gold will be found in the village center of Martigny. If you go further Southeast you will find a small group of enemies with another treasure for a total of (500 gold).
Not much farther you will find another chest slightly North East of the first village across the small path. (600)
Keep heading north until you see a crossroad with two more chests in the center. (800)
On this same crossroad, take the left path once and then go on the even smaller path to the left. Another chest will be found in the open area. (900)
By now you will be given an objective to fight the relief army. It's encouraged that you wipe them out quickly if you're looking to have an easier final fight with Roberts Army. If you have missed this achievement and are replaying this mission solely for the achievement then just ignore this relief army as the achievement pops as soon as it's done.
After defeating the relief army/ignoring them, begin razing and attacking the second town of Frenes. There are 4 chest in the center of this village. After picking them up you will be at 1300 gold which is the exact amount we need for the achievement. Pay Elias twice and Raoul once in order to get 45 knights. The aid button should be on the top right corner of the screen. Once purchased the achievement should pop within 10 seconds. It did delay a little bit for me.

Great guide for the gold locations. I'm not sure if the game updated or not, but for me it says Raoul sends cavalry (though maybe he sends knights too?) To be on the safe side I found two extra gold spots (one east of Frenes and one just SE of Rrenes, near where reinforcements come from) to make up 1500 gold and did 3 requests to Elias.

If you hover over the Raoul it'll say what specific units he will send. Otherwise, the category for units will be read next to their name. Like Infantry, archers, etc. But thanks! Hope it helped!
