If you fail to acquire this achievement make sure you do not load a previous save of the mission. This will prevent you from obtaining it because of some unknown glitch as of Nov 2nd, 2021. Just restart the mission instead.
This achievement can be acquired in the first mission in the Mongol campaign called Battle of the Kalka River. Mangudais are horse archers that are great at hit and run tactics. You start the mission with 36 of them. Use them effectively along with your hero character to boost attack speed but avoid having them attack archers. Use them to attack spearmen.
Once you spring your trap by the river use your cavalry to attack the enemy army while the Mangudai provides cover from the rear and away from the arrows and spears. Make sure you complete the mission with all 36 Mangudai units still alive. The achievement unlocked when I pressed continue in the summary screen. I thought I had lost a unit so I restarted the mission but the problem was just pressing continue. Try this before attempting it again if you think you lost one.

Just wanted to add that as of NOV 2 2021 there is still an unfixed bug/glitch that prevents you from getting achievements if you load a saved game meaning if you load a saved game after losing a unit this achievement WILL NOT POP and you must restart the mission. Hopefully this will be fixed by the developers soon and wasnt left in intentionally to make getting achievements harder.

Ive noticed that a lot of these achievements have been bugged if you load a save. Ill mention it in this guide.

The Mangudai is the horse unit with a bow from the Mongol civilization. You start the mission with 36 of them. You need to micro a lot to keep them alive and use your other units as tankers. You can also lower the difficulty if you don't want to struggle with this one. I did it on hard difficulty, you can watch the video below to see how I did it.
